Chapter 14

Mexico

The bloody path Marina and her family carved started to bleed overseas just as they planned. With the aid from the secret parts of the US CIA, the Álvarez family along with a few select families worldwide would join this cause. It was A single tight network of criminals worldwide. It began in Mexico, then Africa, and then next was Russian. The CIA wanted to make sure the plain worked before trying the same technique in the united states. A Lot fell on Kevin's shoulders as the plan was placed in his hands to carry out. If he failed, it meant death.

Derike, the Irish man from the IRA, and Kojo, the African rebel, were sent back to Africa to look over the trade in guns as well as the gathering of Kojo's army. They were the newest recruits for Marina's group.

The idea was the same in Mexico. Take out all the other rebels, drug dealers, and criminal kingpins and combine the remaining into one huge network. Control was key.

Vespa, the daughter to Vladimir's second in command joined the group of devils. Marina didn't care for her to much, being she was always flirty and loose with the other men. She was an excellent assassin, But the way she carried herself was a bit trashy. Marina also didn't enjoy the fact Vespa was always trying to come into the meetings to be all over Nate. "Vespa..." Marina bellowed from the other end of the room. The angry Latino Finally caught the Ukrainian woman's attention.

"Yes Marina?" she placed a fake smile as she turned to face her boss.

"How did the transfer go?" Marina asked as Vespa took a seat at the long table.

"The Japanese are a no go, Aiko is dead." Aiko was one of Marina's devils, who would eventually run the Japan part of the business. Marina let out an aggravated sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. Vespa continued to try and talk to Nate, who was sitting beside her.

"You are just now telling me this?" Marina slammed her hands down on the table to obtain Vespa's attention once more. Vespa was silent as she glared at her boss.

"Do you know how important it is to have everyone on board and towards the same goal? Do you know how important Aiko was, and the Japanese involvement with use is?" Marina cursed a bit in Spanish.

"I need you to go with Derek and Kojo in Africa... to make sure things go well there. I normally like to spread my devils out, but since I cannot count on you to do your job... I will have Derek and Kojo to keep an eye on you." Vespa knew it was pointless to argue, the only one who ever really argued with Marina was Nate. They all knew Nate was Marina's soft spot, cause if anyone else would talk to her as Nate did sometimes, she would have them killed or she would kill them in a horrific way. Vespa rolled her eyes and stood up from her chair. The Ukrainian gave Marina one last look before storming out the conference room.

"Well, that went well." Nate added sarcastically as he kept his normal grumpy look chiseled on his face.

"Anything to add Nathaniel?" Marian hissed crossing her arms.

"No, not that I can think of."

Marina ignored Nate's facial expressions as she turned to continue the weekly meeting. She knew Kevin was not going to be happy about this, but she didn't care about his opinions. It was her father's that really mattered to Marina. She already knew exactly what he would tell her, he would say she was spreading herself thin, and also biting off more that she could chew. Maria needed to focus on Mexico with the help of her father, and Africa. She didn't really need to worry about Ukraine now, Vladimir and his rebel group were keeping things lively there. Slow and steady won the race, and Rome was not built in a day. It would take time to spread out and to funnel everything into one major criminal organization. Marina could not let her ego, nor her constant need to prove herself worthy of the job consume her. This was a giant step to build her family's empire and it rested on her shoulders.
