THE FIVE WALKED home in a confused and very awkward atmosphere. Not only was the random girl extremely quiet, but she seemed... strange. The yellow shirt she wore was much too big for her, hell, too big for Penelope if she'd ever try it on. The light pattering of the rain on the concrete was accompanied by the 'quiet' murmurs and whispers from the three boys, asking ridiculous questions.

Penelope watched the girl as she walked, a great distance from everyone. Penelope walked behind the group, to keep an eye on every one of them. She mostly tried to figure out what happened with this random girl, where she could've come from. Her small figure was shaking and trembling from the cold, and it almost made Penelope laugh inwardly at the fact that she was, too. Except she hadn't been out here for what looked like days. She was still in her clothes she was going to wear to sleep and wet hair from the shower.

When the large group of kids attempted to quietly enter Mike's house from the backdoor, (they didn't succeed) they instantly went into the basement. The very basement they were couped up in yesterday night for too many hours.

Penelope led the girl onto the couch. She was careful not to touch her, knowing that from the dirt on a large shirt that was probably given to her, she might've been more than a runaway. She didn't want to scare her.

"Is there a number we can call for your parents?" Mike asked before Penelope could try and calm the girl down. Her buzz cut could easily make her be mistaken for a small boy, but if you noticed the small things in her features, you could tell she wasn't.

"Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?" Dustin blurted, right after mike. Penelope's eyes went wide and she nudged Dustin with her elbow, scowling at him.

"Dustin! Don't be rude!" She exasperatedly shoved his head back with the enter palm of her hand, gently.

"Did you run away?" Lucas contributed to their questioning fest. The girl almost looked terrified, her head snapping from one person to the other as they talked.

"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike asked, right along his friends. She didn't answer, not that she had enough time to, anyways. Penelope squinted at her yellow shirt, and under the lamp light in Mike's basement, she could see wet smudges of red. Her clothes were drenched, but the great contrast in color was still slightly hard to see as it was hidden behind the coat she'd given to her.

"Oh god, is that blood?" Penelope asked, crouched down at her level. Lucas started to hold out his hand, to do whatever god knows. Mike shut him down real quick, smacking his hand before he could even get passed lifting it.

"Stop it! You're freaking her out!" Mike scolded Lucas.

"She's freaking me out!" Lucas argued.
