BH Private Institution

I hadn't planned on moving school.. but as fate has it, I was on my way to the new private school my mom wanted me to attend.

I still remember my mom calling me down from my room, only for me to be hit with the worse news.
I was moving almost 5 hours away.
My mom seemed so happy about it, but I secretly resented her for it.

"Now Rowan.. don't look so down! I'm sure this new school will be the start for many things!"

But what if I didn't want a new start? What if I felt fine here?
But I only thought that. She seemed to happy, I didn't wanna spoil the moment..
      "You're right."
      I muttered bitterly.

I couldn't say, "oh mom this is the worst idea yet! And I can't just leave my friends behind!" But I couldn't..
I had attended my home school ever since pre-k and have never moved before. I knew everyone, and everyone knew me, and then finding out I have to leave it all behind made me hate her, but I stayed quiet.

And just like that, we already had the rental truck packed down and we were moving across the state.

I had slept most of the way.. until I was rudely awoken by a bump on the road.
I lazily opened my eyes to looked around at the scenery out of the passenger window. It took me a bit to adjust to the surroundings, but once I saw how secluded the area was, I couldn't help but wish this was a dream— a night mare. I leaned back into my passenger seat, sighing in disappointment.

Not long after, I finally laid my eyes on the place I would be calling my home.
I had to say, the house itself wasn't too bad. It had a nice grayish blue paint, the windows seemed old but in an old antique way.
My mom tossed me the keys.
"Go open the door for us. We have a lot of things to move."

I was still looking around the house, it was in the middle of no where. It seemed to be miles away from our nearest neighbor. It sent a shiver down my spine. The woods behind it didn't help either.
I held the keys, and jiggled them around in the key hole.. until it clicked open.
The door slowly creaked open, I took a breath and stepped inside..

The house didn't even seem that bad, the house had a nice feeling to it. I gazed at the calming colors on the walls, the hard wood floor seemed to creak only a bit, something that I would learn from and would find the strong point to make zero sound when walking around the house.
I sighed, turning back around to help my mom unload the truck.

(A few hours later..)

It only took us a few hours, but we had everything in place, I just needed to set up my room and add some final touches..

Soon after, my mom called me down to the kitchen.
I quietly crept down the stairs and into the kitchen, making note of all of the creaks in the floor board.
I walked into the kitchen where my mom sat at the old wooden table.
She held a small paper— a pamphlet, she handed it to me.
I gazed at it. Taking in the big letters at the top that read "BH Private institution"
"This is the new school you will be attending."

I looked up at her..
"It looks like a religious school.."

She smiled at me as she spoke:
"It wouldn't hurt for you to explore a religion"

I opened the pamphlet; it looked like any other school trying to lure people in with things that look fun, but in reality was a false advertisement. False hope.
I sighed, I knew I couldn't change my moms mind on this.

"When do I start?"
I asked with annoyance dripping of my voice.

"Tomorrow."
