The birds chirps and the sun shines. A percent day.Wally let's out a soft hum; still half asleep. His eyes fluttered and squinted against the sun pouring into his room. Yesterday he and Frank talk and he learn about gender. And got many new clothes!
Immediately Wally bolts right up, he can wear something new!! Getting out of bed, his feet touch the soft carpet. "Good morning Home. Today I'm going to wear something cute. What do you think?" Wally ask his Home.
The living house opened its "eyes", glancing around the room it let out a creak from its window shutters. It let out a happy noise, as if it was saying "Hooray!"
Wally smiled and blew Home a kiss. Then he made his bed; fluffing the pillows and smoothing out the bedsheets, and place a little toy bear on the blankets. With a little nod, Wally skipped over to his closet and flung open the door in excitement. Yesterday, Eddie delivered order a a new dress for Wally, It was from one of their fans!!! The little child beg their mother to made it for him, from what the note said. The child was insecure about their looks, and wanted to Wally wear something they wear to gain confidence.
While Wally will always help and love his fans. A tiny selfish part of himself was overjoyed that someone gave him a dress, even if the situation wasn't the best. Pulling the dress out, his eyes felt like there were stars in them. The dress was a pale yellow, with white lace, puff sleeves, and a Peter Pan collar. It also had a small little duck embroidered onto the collar. Slipping the dress on, Wally rush into the bathroom and look at the mirror.
He....he look like a doll. A soft plush doll, ones that children use for tea parties.
Wally felt a mix of emotions, happiness, excitement, nervous, and.....sad? Lifting a hand to felt the dress, he noticed that it was soft. But the fabric near his chest and hips felt a bit loss. At first he didn't notice it, just happy to see how he looks, but now....He felt hollow. Like something was missing. Even just thinking of him as "he" was uncomfortable. Like when you step in a rain puddle and your sock gets wet. This feeling was bad. Shaking his hands and head he try to get rid of the icky feeling.
"Home, why do I feel sad? The dress is pretty. I feel pretty, but now I'm sad. Why?"
Home bang on a few water pipes. Wally mentally translated the sounds. "You look beautiful my darling. Why not talk to Julie? She may know what to do."
Wally gave a small, tight smile. "Ok."

Tapping on Julie's door, Wally look at his feet. He was lightly kicking some rocks. He was still wearing his dress. Would Julie like it? Would she get mad at him for wearing one? Would she not want to be friends anymore? These negative thoughts spin inside his head. Wally grab a fistful of his hair and lightly tug on it. Currently his hair was down from its classic pompadour. It....it didn't feel right to have it in that style today. His hair when down and brushed, was thick and barely long enough to pass his shoulders. While still in his thoughts, Julie opened the door.
"GASP!! Wally! Oh my gosh you look so cute!!! Is that a new dress? Oh I never seen you wear one before! Did you come over to play or to bake some yummy food or to watch tv??" Julie asked. She bounced up and down, a wide grin on her face. Wally look up, and he burst into tears.
"Wh—Oh! Wally...What's wrong? Hey, hey. Shhh, it's ok. Why are you crying?" Julie asked, concerned. She pulled Wally towards her, hugging him and whipping his tears away. Shuffling, Julie move the two of then inside and close the door, then she push Wally towards her bedroom and onto her bed.
"Wally...talk to me. Please?" She ask. Julie grab a tissue box and crawl onto the bed and sat next to her one of her best friends. Wally sniffed and grabbed one of the tissue.
Feeling like his tears were under control, Wally spoke. " I'm sad. I like my dress, but when I look closer, I see how it doesn't fit in some places. It makes me sad. Why?"
Julie paused. What Wally explained, and the new dress....It seems like what Julie experienced when she was younger and didn't have the words to express her feelings and gender. Hesitate Julie ask. "Wally, when wearing the dress where did you noticed it didn't fit right?"
"My chest and near my hips. It was too loose and it made me feel like I step in a wet puddle with sock on!"
Oh. Wally was...?
"Wally....are you a girl? Or, want to be one?" She softly ask. The question was a big one, with big feelings. And Julie was worried that asking this question would either make Wally uncomfortable or feel better. The older puppet blink, then gave a little gasp.
"Yesterday Frank help me learn more about gender. I found the term Bigender. It's when you're both a boy and a girl. I think I'm that."
It was Julie turn to gasp. Wally was a girl!!! But also a boy! Oh how great! But why was he still sad? Hugging the little puppet Julie smiled. "Wally that's great! I'm so happy you found out what your gender is!!! We can have gurl night and wear cute outfits and do makeup and our hair!! But...why are you sad?"
Wally gave a little laugh when Julie hug him. But when they stop and Julie asked why he was still sad, he shrugged. "I don't know..Can you help?"
Julie nodded and tapped her finger against her chin, humming. "Hmm you said that the chest area feels too loose? What if I...." Julie got on her knees and move behind Wally, looking at the strings on the back "iiiiiiii...just....ok! There. Better?"
Julie tighten the dress, making the chest area tight. Looking down Wally look down at his chest. The material was tight. It felt...nice. But still, looking down at his flat chest.....
"Hmmm better. But still flat."
"Flat? Hhmmm. Wait! Wally are you feeling dysphoric? That mean you feel unhappy because you're body doesn't match you're head?"
"My head? Silly Julie, my head is on my body." Wally jokes. Julie giggled at Wally accidentally joke.
"No. I mean, in you're mind you think of yourself as a boy and a girl, but you're body is only look like a male. So that might make you sad."
Wally was quite for a moment, deep in thought. "Julie...Can I make my body more girl like? But also staying like me? I don't like this ichy feeling.."
Julie thought for a moment then jump off the bed and beeline to her vanity. Grabbing her box of accessories she rushed back over and put the box on the bed.
"Here!! I have lots of accessories. Ribbons, hair clips, stickers, nail polish, nail stickers, jewelry, flower crowns. Anything and everything!! Want to try some? I don't know how to make your body have the right parts, but fashion and looking like a girl can help you? Do you want me to call you a girl? And use she?" She ask. Wally nodded and grabbed a glittery red ribbon.
