The battle was beginning. The masked woman warrior was running through the battlefield. Her cat mask on her face and Nuibari out with blood. She didn’t hesitate. She was the one many feared with the needle blade of the Hidden Mist. Monochrome Kiss. She saw Hidan and stared at the Rain nin. Watching them fight.

Hidan was having the time of his life, doing sacrifices in rapid succession, and sending their souls to Jashin with a big grin. In contrast to him, Kakuzu was fighting like a silent nightmare, his usual coverings off and most of his stitches opened up like he was a cursed voodoo doll, those masses of threads grabbing any enemy who came within reach and slowly killing them, ripping their hearts out for later.

Konan was flying above the battlefield like an Angel of death, her paper wings carrying her above while she sent her attacks raining down upon Mist Shinobi with a death of a million papercuts. On the ground, Zetsu had gotten himself surrounded, but then used his Flora powers to take down the others close to him and started eating the dead.

The three Uchihas were causing terror amongst the enemy as well, with two of them possessing the Mangekyo, and they rained down undefeatable black flames upon the battlefield while Ryuumaru was also using his other eye to brand the thrown weapons of the attackers and send them flying back towards them with his will.

Kisame, along with Zabuza and Megumi, were fighting alongside each other, using their swords in tandem to beat back those that tried to stop them. Haku was helping as well, using his ice needles to rain his fury down upon the enemy. With another technique, he then turned the needles into spears, impaling anyone unfortunate enough to cross their trajectory.

Megumi then tossed her sword to her apprentice, Raiga Kurosuki. Then turned into a white tiger with silver stripes. Killing the foes who got too close. Raiga caught the swords easily and joined up beside the other two Swordsmen, using the cross lightning attack in tandem with a Shark Bullet from Kisame to provide a cover for Zabuza to get in there and kill off the Anbu guards.

“Mei, you with me?” Zabuza asked to the Kunoichi, who nodded with a smirk.

“Let’s do this,” she said, kicking down the door and rushing in with Zabuza by her side. “We need to take down Gengetsu once and for all.”

“I just don’t like those clams of his,” Zabuza growled.

Monochrome Kiss looked at Gengetsu. “The revolution is at your doorstep. Are you sure you won’t surrender?”

“Oh please, they already failed once… I’m obviously too fabulous to lose,” he said, rolling his eyes. “After all, that Samurai who thought he could run a Shinobi village was obviously too ugly with those eyebrows of his… and he obviously couldn’t handle the stress. Weaklings… and I made sure to kill that boy as well. Now, get down on your knees, and bow to me.”

“I’m sorry? I don’t think I heard you. Did you say you’re not paying me to protect you? Cause that’s instant death.”

He just rolled his eyes again, and then looked up when his door got bashed in by the body of one of his guards held like a battering ram by Kakuzu. The others ran in along with him, and then the stitched Shinobi had a flat look at seeing her sword, and then his eyes narrowed when he caught the scent of the blood.

“Hmm? Oh it’s you all. Tch. So annoying.” Monochrome then tossed Yahiko’s headband at Konan. “Pity. If he didn’t follow me… he would still be alive. Shame isn’t it? This is the end of the line for you.”

Suddenly… there was a massive, thick, dark feeling of rage and killing intent in the room as the Akatsuki all stared at the headband in Konan’s hand… but Kakuzu just looked at it with a raised eyebrow and then looked over at her. There was something in his eyes that was much, much more terrifying than rage.

A cold, calculating abyss of green that seemed to stare straight into her very soul. Monochrome pulled out her sword. Then look at this guy. “Hmm… alright. I’ll tell you something. He is dead, yes. But he saw my face… can’t have that so I killed him. An accident maybe… but this is war. Sorry but I don’t think You’d understand. He’s in the Hidden Grass. Fighting for his life. Oh… and father?” Monochrome said to Gengetsu. “Goodbye father. See you in hell." Then she cut her father’s head off before leaving through the window.

Kakuzu just watched her go with that same cold look, and then turned to the others. “Mei. Use the head to proclaim your victory.”

Mei nodded, going over and picking up the head of the former Mizukage, thinking this over and glancing at Kakuzu. They could read each other’s eyes at this point. "It’s her, isn’t it? The lost daughter?” Her eyes asked him, seeking confirmation from his experience and knowledge.

“Yes, it’s Arya… her calling him father confirmed it.” Kakuzu nodded, and then he went over and grabbed the Mizukage hat and coat for her. Then, with those on, she walked out onto the balcony and threw Gengetsu’s head out into the streets, ending the battle once and for all.

In the Hidden Grass, the red headed medic nin was holding Yahiko’s hand, crying softly as he was speaking to her. “So… finally… found you…” he rasped softly, struggling to breathe as he pushed her bangs away from her forehead, revealing the red dot there. “Hina… your brother… misses you…”

“Please don’t go…” she said softly, tears falling down her face.

“I… need you… to… tell them… something…” he told her, coughing up more blood. “Tell… th… them… it was… Mono…chrome… it… was… a… an……”

Before he could finish, his eyes closed, and he breathed his final breath. Asahina sobbed, hugging him and trying to make sure he didn’t feel alone…

Konan ran into the room and screamed at the sight. Sobbing out his name. “YAAAAHIIIIKOOOOOO!”
