Rosie is a nice girl. She didn't have to go to the whole, job test thing. Instead, she volunteered to be a Nurse. She did her part very well and she is currently being mentored by Tessa.

The next day, I ran alone. As she said, Perry had to do something in the Chart Room. I didn't know what exactly. She never told me so.

Today I got curious and decided to not follow my normal routing in the Labyrinth. Instead, I went left, right, left, until there were no more corridors to run to.

I looked at my watch and- CRAP! It's late and the doors will start to close anytime soon!

I ran. Right, left, right, as fast as I could manage. Suddenly, the corridors doesn't look familiar. Wasn't this the same route I took?

I just kept running and running until I found myself in the Blades. The Blades turned sideways creating a brand new corridor. I didn't have much choice but to run through that uncharted corridor.

Gasolines were pumping down my veins as I ran. The Blades are starting to turn again so I picked up my pace as I race the turning sword like walls.

I knew I couldn't pick up. I was too tired. My pace became slower and slower every second when someone grabbed me by my arm. I looked up and saw...a boy?

A boy!

This was the first time I saw a boy ever since I came here. Which was strange, considering that back in the Clearing, we were all girls. But right now, I didn't care as I, we, run for our lives.

I got a glance of his face. He looked Asian, with his dark hair and small eyes. His grip in my arm became loose as I regained my pace slowly.

Once we've made it passed the Blades, we didn't stop. I didn't know his name, and he didn't know mine, but we had trust on each other. Considering the fact that we were running for the way out.

"There! The doors!" I said as I spotted the gigantic doors that lead to the Clearing.

"Run woman, run!"

I was ecstatic. I could feel the adrenaline rush though me. I couldn't wait to see Penny and Sasha and Tessa and everybody else.

We ran. We ran as the doors started to close up. The doors were closing in fast. Only five, four, three feet wide! Fortunately we made it.

We both collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. He managed to sit up, and I did too.

"What were you doing there?" He asked looking at me, still catching his breath

"Calm down you oaf, save your energy. The Nurses should be here any minute-"

"Nurses? What the shuck are you yapping about?" He snapped. He sort of had this serious yet amusing side.

"Excuse me? You are talking to an experienced Seeker named Madison who apparently has a special spot in Sasha's heart-" seriously, why can't he let me finish?

"Excuse you? You are talking to the Keeper of the Runners named Minho who apparently has a special spot in Alby's heart. What the hell's a Seeker and who the hell is Sasha? I'm presuming your name is Madison. So talk, Madison." He said. Woah, this boy has sass.

Keeper of the Runners? Minho? Alby? I am too confused

"Are you seriously a nitwit? Where'd you come from anyway? Do you even know anything in the Clearing?" I said. He looked confused, like I was. But a bit more.

"Honey, what the shuck are you saying?"

Shuck? What the hell's a shuck?

"You know! The Clearing! This place." I said as I turned around and faced the expected place with the expected people. I was so wrong. There weren't any girls in sight but lots and lots of boys.

"You mean the Glade?" He asked "Look, Madison, maybe you need a good night's sleep. Maybe your brain will function much better in the morning, at least I hope it will, then I will interrogate you. Along with Newt, Alby, Gally, Winston, and every other Keeper." He stood up and handed me his hand

I took another look around the 'Glade'. Seeing a few boys do their works reminded me of the Clearing and the girls.

Minho, took me to this Alby person. He had dark skin and a bald head.

"Hey Alby! Found this girl in the Maze. Rescued her, and well, what do we do with her?" Minho asked

Alby looked a bit puzzled and cautious.

"Find Newt." He said to the guy he was talking to earlier.

"What is this place? Who are you people and where are the girls?" I blurted out. I couldn't hold the questions up much longer.

"All questions will be answered in the end of the tour. Your tour will take place around eight o'clock tomorrow. Until then you-" he stopped and I followed his gaze. "Newt."

Newt. He looked familiar. He looked very familiar. His dark blond hair and his bright chocolate colored eyes seemed to have locked my focus.

"Hello? Madison? Hey!" Minho slightly pushed me but I still fell. Due to my lack of focus, worn out feet, and tired body. Newt caught me though.

My eyes locked with his and for a moment, I didn't feel anything.

"Come on, you can stay in my room." Newt said and then he looked up to face Alby "If that's okay with you." He said

"Why'd you think I called you for? She can't sleep with me. Obviously not with Minho because we all know he farts and snores a lot in his sleep-" Alby said but was cut off by Minho

"I do not!" He whined

Alby gave him a stern look. "And obviously we can't trust anyone else. So it had to be you. Unless Missy here, wants to spend the night in the Slammer." Alby looked at me this time.

"The Slammer?" I said

"You wouldn't like it there." Newt said

"Then I guess I'll be staying with you then?" I said standing up. I didn't even know that he was still holding me.

"Good that." He said

Yeah. Good that.

---

His room seemed decent enough. There was a bed in the corner, a closet on the side, drawers opposite sides to the bed, and a desk. It was simple, but somehow it felt comforting

"Uh, hey Madison?" Newt said

"You can call me Maddie. You sound boring when you say Madison." I chimed in

He chuckled. He had a very cute chuckle.

"Alrighty, Maddie" he started "Which side would you want to sleep on tonight?" He asked gesturing to the bed.

Wait. We were going to share the bed? He wasn't cgoing to sleep on the floor?

"Y-you mean you're-were going to sl-sleep...together?" I shuddered

"Yes but if you don't want to, I could just sleep on the floor." He said

"Thanks." I said

"No problem."
