it was blazing hot in the little two bedroom apartment where I now reside. the place had roughly 40 acres of land, and I do believe that calls for some exploring.
all the cars from the house were gone, making this exploring a little easier. outside, the weather had turned from hot, humid, and sunny to hot, humid, and cloudy. a woodpecker was pecking into a tree trunk. the first spot for exploration has been found.
walking up the very steep hill, following the loud ringing pecks, it seemed as though the closer I got the less of a pecking was heard. I turned to start back down the hill, and the stupid bird began pecking again. so, I turned around and headed back up the hill. the pecking stopped. I started down the hill and the pecking started again. so, once again I turned to go up the hill and once again the pecking stopped. fed up I flopped down onto the firm ground. "you know this would be a lot easier if you weren't such an asshole," I called out to the woodpecker.
the way back down the hill sent me almost completely ruining mrs. finch's precious flowers. mrs. finch was the lady that owned the house/ apartments. she stood about a foot shorter than my 5'11" but had the personality to make up for it. in the short 3 hours in which I've lived here I learned that if it was worth knowing, mrs. finch knew about it, or at least had a story about something somewhat related too it.
mrs. finch's flowers were her prized possession. she claims she plants them every year but, 97% of them are wild flowers.

looking at the flowers I plucked a wild white daisy, looked around to see if anyone was coming and then plucked a few more flowers. every single noise I heard made my head snap up and look around the most innocent look on my face. I went back to plucking wild flower after wildflower. I glanced over my shoulder and noticed some growing over by the creek.
I kicked off my shoes and walked down to the creek. I started walking down the ledge to get to the water. the water was a dirt brown color and surprisingly warm. i walked over to the other side and plucked a couple of flowers.
nearby I heard a branch snap and I looked around expecting to see a dear or rabbit or an alien or something. to my surprise there was nothing. I turned back around and plucked a couple more flowers. "hey, this is my spot" I turned around to see that the branch snapper was a guy with gorgeous curly blonde hair. "wait, you moved in next to me" he stuck out his hand. "I'm Hudson and I'm late for a date with a total babe so, I need some flowers" Hudson reached passed me and yanked a couple of flowers out of the ground. "thanks" he turned and walked away. what the hell was that?

twenty minutes later I was sitting in mrs. finch's kitchen paying my first months rent. "who's Hudson?" I asked finally after wondering since he walked in and left as quickly as he came in. mrs. finch looked me right in the eye. "Hudson is a flirt and won't look at you fully, he's afraid of love. he covers that up with going on tons of dates with the same type girl. he drives me insane but, he can be the sweetest person when you get to know him" she paused. "Willow, don't be one of those girls" with that she stood up and left the kitchen. don't be one of those girls...
