Chapter 3 •Left behind•

{Odin POV}

"Kids! I'm gonna be gone to work okay? Yuna, make sure your siblings are behave." Dad said as he was about to leave. "Yes father, I will." Sister Yuna said as dad closed the door shut. I prepared a milktea for Felix, since he loves it, especially wintermelon. Most of my siblings prefer me to cook, coz most of them liked the way I give it a flavor. But Gabriel never liked it. He would prefer Peggy to cook, and her dishes tastes the same as mine, but missing some ingredients like, if she cook vegetable soup, she will set aside pepper, carrots, and especially, onions.

"Hey bro!" Leo said in his sassy voice as usual. "What's up?" I asked. "I was wondering. Among all of us, sister Yuna is the only one who calls dad, 'father'. And it's very odd." He replied. Indeed, it is very odd.

{At the library, Quartney POV}

"Thanks, Marcus." I said as he put down the last book. "No problem, sissy! You can rely on me anytime!" He said cheerfully and left. I just remembered the book that I am writing currently, so I went looking for it. It's called, "My Life in a Nutshell" and I've been writing that for almost a year! Since I'm very busy with academics. I was planning of putting my struggle in learning in that good old book. I was looking for it, and realized that it was missing! Who the fuck is pulling a prank on me?! I really hated it! If it is Valerie, then she will reveal that it was her after the incident. It can't be Nathan, he wasn't allowed to remove the blindfold. What if... Tord just stormed out of the library, acting very suspicious. I stopped him by the door and said,

"So, Tord. Do you have any idea on who stole my... BOOK?!"

"Uhh, no."

"Then what's behind you?"

"It's just my goggles." He showed his goggles to me. "I'm gonna practice my swimming skills outside."

"Okay, then. You can leave now."

"Bye Quart!" He said as he left.

"I will make sure you'll never escape my misery." I said to myself, knowing that this season is winter. "You lied to me, but I won't fall for that. I can read minds, and you'll never know that."

{Narrator's POV}

"That's not how it looks like!" Sam yelled as he took his phone away from Rex's sight. "Is that your girlfriend? Ayieee, brother." Krish teased. "Shh, you hear that?" Peggy asked as Sam, Rex, and Krish placed their ears on the wall. "A doorbell?" Jayden asked curiously. "It's dad!" Denise yelled as she was about to open the door when Nathan picked her up. "Denise, we have to confirm that it was dad." He said which made Denise very sad. "I'll check it!" Felix yelled excitingly as he ran upstairs. "Hey, what about me?" Gabriel also ran upstairs, which made Krish stop him. "Gabe, one at a time." She reminded. Gabe just sat angrily at the sofa like a mad gentleman. "It's dad! You can open it." Felix yelled. Valerie was about to open the door when Hailey warned her.

"Sister, don't open it. It's not dad. It's someone else." Valerie pulled her hands backwards in complete shock and fear. "Sis, what's wrong?" Leo asked curiously at his sister. "Guys, when I open the door, you go hide as fast as you can. Now." Valerie said. "What's wrong Val?" Yuna asked. "Just go find a hiding place, quick!"

They all ran to different direction in panic. Yuna took Denise and hid her at the grandfather's clock. Quartney hid at the library with Tord and Peggy. Krish took Bart and Chris then hid under the bed. Xander hid at his closet with Uziel, shivering in fear. Felix, Gabriel, Marcus, and Sam hid at the attic. Odin took the pot, and put it on his head and hid inside the cupboard. The rest locked their rooms and hid at anywhere they can fit. Everyone is safe, right?

Hailey, on the other hand, will take care of the intruders, since they couldn't see her. Valerie opened the door and hid at the storeroom.
