Cold. That's the only word I could describe it, Maine. I didn't realize how cold it would be up here. I was completely underdressed, I stand inside the airport, and shiver everytime someone go through those sliding doors. I reach into my luggage and grab a thin sweater I had packed, thank God I packed it, and put it on, not really helping. The sliding doors open up to a short chubby woman, her hair flow down her back, almost touching the floor. Her green eyes flashed towards me, she had to be my aunt, she look just like my mother in a way. She stubbled towards me, and give me a soft welcoming hug. I hug her back and did a half smile towards her.
"My, have you grown Ania, I'm your auntie Lindsey, but you can just call me L. I haven't seen you since you were born, and yet I can still tell who you were when I spotted you, you have her eyes." Her voice faded, and grabbed my luggage away from me.
"Follow me sweetheart."
I follow her outside, the cold wind bash me in the face as soon as I step foot out there. The snow blew in my eyes, making it difficult to see.
"hurry child, they say there's going to be a snow storm soon tonight, I don't want to be caught in it."
We reach a nice truck and hop into it.
I frantically rub my hands together as the trucks heat went ablaze.
"you didn't know it was that cold up here did ya?" She ask me, while she drove away from the airport.
I could only shake my head as I was still trembling. She gave off a little chuckle, we stopped at a red light. She reached over her chair and gave me a wool blanket. I thanked her and put it around my shoulders.
We made it to the house, it was quit large in size. She parked in the garage and get out the truck. I follow her inside as I grab my luggage.
"Well since you are a young adult, I only have a few rules. Don't go in the back yard, because there are woods back there, I don't want you to get harmed. And that's about enough rules as it go." She say as she walk up the stairs. She stop at a room and smile widely.
"Well here's your room."
I glare around the room, it is bigger than my room when I lived with my mom. I set my luggage on my bed and sigh.
"what's wrong dear, is it not big enough?"
"no, no its perfect I like it, it'll just be a while before I get used to it." I quickly say,she nod her head.
She step out the room and let me have some space.
Hello my new life. Goodbye old one.
