Coincidence. Fate. Or sheer stupidity. Dev didn't know at this point. But she was up and wide awake at 7:30 am and that was a surprise. She loathed mornings and if staying in bed was a job, she would be filthy freaking rich.

The very first thing she looked at was her messages after her alarm went off and sure enough. A brand new text from a 512 number "huh, Austin area, not bad, little far but ok." She was quick to open the text and smiled. "Hey there. It's me from last night?" Peter had texted at, the ungodly hour, of 6 am. He was a morning person, lovely.

She'll be damned, he was still online. On a Monday no less, didn't he have school? She shrugged it off and texted back with a smile before getting up to brush her teeth and brush her short, closely cropped brown hair before getting dressed to start the day before looking at her phone again. Three new texts, a mild surprise but she did have her phone on vibrate so that might be why.

Peter had sent her a quick text and 2 pictures "Oh, haha I didn't think you would text back."The pictures were cute, his face with a black felt cowboy hat, he was in a navy polo for school and the next was a mirror pic, showing off his well muscled figure in a pair of jeans with a Texas Longhorns lanyard hanging out of his pocket, same polo, same hat. 

The man couldn't have been taller than 6 foot with striking blue eyes, the kind you could lose yourself in without a care in the world. You couldn't see his hair but his face was nice to look at. She placed him at a 8 on the cuteness scale but the fact that he wore a hat and jeans to school made him a 10.

She was smiling and quickly saved the contact before doing the same, 2 pictures and a text. "Why wouldn't I text back? Defeats the point of giving you my number don't you think?" The pictures were cute. One of her face, her glasses perched on her nose with big dark brown eyes behind the lenses. She had freckles and a few acne scars and a small slit in her eyebrow, having fallen in love with the TikTok trend she never got rid of it. She always looked cute, a mask over her fierce personality.

The other was a mirror pic, copying his lead. She wore shorts, loose dark green athletic shorts that came to mid-upper thigh, and a tie-dye hoodie, that nearly covered the shorts, it was effective enough, it showed she was short and mildly curvaceous with bigger thighs and toned calves. A facade over her true strength. She was a a barrel racer, she worked with horses daily and trained them, she had to be strong. 

Peter was beaming, he was with his friends in the back of his history class. He thought she was adorable, no taller than 5'4. She was short and he loved that. He felt like there was more to the girl than just a pretty face and perfect curves and he wanted to find out. "How are you? Sleep ok?"

How sweet was that. He was asking how she slept so she went with the obvious "I went to bed pretty late, like, 3 am but I still slept great. How about you?" She was following his lead with this, she was strong willed but it's better to feel it sometimes. "Me too. History is so boring." 

She chuckled and nodded to herself, she was doing bible class. "Agreed, I hate it so much. I prefer numbers, chemical compounds and the elements." He grinned, she was a smarty pants too, could she get any better? He shot back a text and the bell rang "Hey I have to get to my next class but I'll talk to you at lunch?" He crossed his fingers as he packed up and walked with his friends to welding.

She looked up from her notebook and read the text before replying "Heck yea! I'll talk to you later" She set her phone aside to finish her school work, as her favorite song starts. Perks of homeschooling. You can have music blaring all you want.
