Summary: Jade has been informed of some developments, which have come to light a year since her encounter with Aziraphale and Crowley. While Aziraphale is enthusiastic about this new information, Jade is apprehensive and holds some reservations regarding the matter.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jade sat quietly at their study desk in Aziraphale's bookshop, fully engrossed in the words of Shakespeare's sonnets. Their raven hair had been meticulously braided and adorned with delicate dark purple flowers, forming a beautiful tiara upon their head. Despite appearances, Jade was not studying for university or any particular reason at all, but rather to keep their mind preoccupied. It had been an excruciatingly long 8 months since they last spoke to their mother, and each passing moment felt like an eternity to the sorrowful Jade.

'J, you've been ssat there for 5 hours now' Crowley hissed, concerned for his friend.

'Crowley, I'm fine. Just studying, that's all' Jade's attention shifted to Crowley, and her emerald-like eyes shone brightly, filling the surrounding space with a natural radiance.

It has been slightly more than one century since Crowley and Jade first crossed paths, and the demon has since become intimately familiar with Jade's character. The two met during a suffragette protest, with Jade donning a modest purple dress and a matching hat to obscure their face. As fate would have it, Crowley inadvertently collided with Jade during the demonstration, prompting them to take extra care not to reveal their identity to the demon whilst still communicating with him.

Aziraphale entered the room with a solemn expression, clutching a plain brown envelope tightly in his hand. The shock on his face was palpable, causing Crowley to pick up on the tension that had been lingering in the air since Jade's arrival. However, Aziraphale appeared to be more than just tense; he seemed genuinely upset, which was unusual for the typically composed individual.

'Jade, you may want to read this. It concerns you and your mother.' With a gentle touch, Aziraphale carefully set the envelope down onto the polished wooden surface, making sure that it was facing downwards towards the desk.

As Jade picked up the envelope and opened it, their breath caught in their throat. The entire bookstore was silent as Jade read the letter and tears welled up in their eyes. The news they received was unexpected and devastating - their mother had passed away, a message no child should ever have to receive.

Crowley turned to Jade with concern etched across his face.

"Is everything okay?" he asked.

Jade's emerald eyes, filled with sadness, flickered up to meet his before quickly shifting away. Suddenly, without a word, Jade snatched the envelope from the desk and stormed out of the bookstore, the door slamming shut behind them with a resounding bang that echoed through the quiet shop.

'I'm going after them, they shouldn't be alone now.' Aziraphale exchanged his comfortable tweed cardigan for his sleek trench coat, making a wardrobe change that signalled a shift in his demeanour. Meanwhile, Crowley remained seated at Jade's desk, intently focused on the note that had been left for them. The message was clear and unequivocal: Jade was destined to become the Queen of Limbo, regardless of any objections they might have had.

Jade found herself standing in the tranquil surroundings of St James's Park, where diplomats were seated on benches and engaged in hushed discussions about confidential matters. Their discontent was palpable, as they were averse to being trapped in limbo to be Queen, and the absence of their mother only exacerbated the situation. While Jade was unaware of it, Aziraphale had been following them, maintaining a low profile. Unfortunately, he stumbled on a slick patch of water and took a nasty spill on the pavement, landing face-first on the gravel before he could brace himself with his hand.

'Zira, you shouldn't really follow me when I'm upset' Jade graciously assisted the wounded angel, gently lifting him up and carefully examining him for any injuries. With a flick of her wrist, she miraculously produced a first aid kit and proceeded to cleanse the minor cuts and scrapes with precision and care.

'I know but I'm concerned about you, that wasn't how I expected the reaction to be' Aziraphale's voice was gentle as he reached out to Jade, placing his hand on theirs and drawing their gaze to meet his. His eyes were filled with understanding and sincerity as he spoke softly.

"Have you ever heard the poem? You are the Queen of Kings, Jade. Like your mother before you, you have the power to control what happens." Jade's doubt was palpable, but Aziraphale's words were a reassuring reminder of their own strength.

'I don't want to control anything Aziraphale! I want to stay here with you and Crowley, this year is one of the best years I've ever had.' Jade held back tears, their eyes glossing before allowing one tear to fall. Suddenly, Aziraphale and Jade were covered in a golden glow, the same glow that they had when they left Limbo for the first time.

As they appeared at Jade's office, they were greeted by the sight of a room that had been abandoned for some time and was now covered in a thick layer of dust. However, Jade seemed to be in denial about the state of her workspace and hurriedly made her way to her mother's office. Upon entering, they were struck by the sight of their mother's lifeless body lying in her bed, covered by a delicate veil and her crown resting gently on her chest. Overwhelmed by grief and shock, they immediately fell to their knees.

'Your Majesty, someone wants to see you. It's the Prince of Hell' A guard had appeared by Amber's door.

As a warrior Princess, Jade harboured a deep-seated animosity towards Beelzebub. The mere thought of Armageddon sent shivers down their spine, and they knew that they couldn't face the impending doom alone. That's when they decided to team up with Crowley and Aziraphale, two unlikely allies who shared their vision of breaking free from the chains of submission to Gabriel and Beelzebub and stopping Armageddon.

Jade had to undergo a transformation for the meeting. They changed into a stunning dark blue gown, adorned with intricate flower patterns that accentuated their regal bearing. Their raven hair, now styled in cascading curls, was adorned with a crown of glittering crystals that dangled elegantly over her forehead.

Beelzebub, accompanied by the imposing Gabriel, looked at the newly crowned Queen with a mix of apprehension and anger. Despite the immense pressure, Jade remained resolute in their conviction that they would emerge victorious and bring about a new era of peace and prosperity for all.

'Gabriel, Beelzebub. What is the meaning of this.' Jade matched the atmosphere of the room with their voice, angry but upset.

'What is this about you wanting to stop Armageddon?' Beelzebub buzzed, anger seeping through zir's words.

'The destruction of the Earth that the Almighty has created for humanity is unacceptable. People have not committed any wrongdoing since Noah's Ark. This destruction exists only for the purpose of showcasing the superiority of Heaven and Hell. This is an unacceptable situation.' Jade hissed, their eyes becoming mere slits as their face becomes thunderous

'Jade, I think we should be going now.' It was at that moment when Aziraphale emerged from Jade's office, holding a book in his hands. Suddenly, he was taken aback when he noticed the severe and angry expression on Jade's face.

Jade's voice was calm and collected as they addressed Aziraphale, "Aziraphale. Go back into my office for a bit, alright." Aziraphale complied and made his way back into Jade's office.

Meanwhile, Gabriel, with a devilish grin on his face, paced around Jade. He claimed to know the prophecy that was being described. Jade, however, remained unfazed by his words. They remembered the cautionary words that Aziraphale had spoken earlier, and decided to probe Gabriel further.

'How so? I mean if you know the prophecy, you two, you should be scared." Jade raised an eyebrow, following Gabriel's every move.

'Shе, queen of the kings. Broken her cage, threw out the keys. She will be the warrior of North and Southern seas' Gabriel and Beelzebub conversed in perfect synchronization, both fully comprehending the uttermost gravity of the perilous threat posed by Jade Goldman to the successful culmination of Armageddon.
