"I told you so,fam."
" Stfu Teyana." Chay was laying down on Teyanas couch holding a pack of frozen peas over her head. It's a miracle she didn't scratch her face up when she passed out in the parking lot. Yet right now this headache/ concussion she had was on a thousand.
"But Chay, you can't say I didn't warn you about this not eating shit. You done gave yourself a head ache now."
Ding dong!
" Ahh!!!" Chay cringed when the sound or the doorbell strained her head.
" Hold on" Tee went to go answer the door.
" Bring me some more peas on the way back Tee!"
" Speaking of headaches!"
Achan walked in to lthe living room.
" Dag what you passing out now?" He said to her
" Wtf did you call him for?"
"Love you too bae." He leaned over and tried to kiss her on the cheek, only to be pushed away.
"How could I not tell my cousin his girlfriend got sick?" Teyana told her
"Plus your mother wanted me to come get you. Since you hit yo head it might look like I have three heads instead of one or something."
"Tee! I don't see any more ice in the freezer!" some dude called from the kitchen
" I know!" she called
"Why tf else would we use a pack of peas? Cuz we wanna cook em after word?" She mumbled to herself
"Just bring a pack of mixed vegetables or something." She yelled back
" OK!" A couple of seconds later she discovered that the guy in the kitchen was Randy. The last person she wanted to see.
"You had to call him too?" Chay asked
" Who do you think carried you over here? We'll never do enough push ups at band camp for me to do that!"
Chay felt a little bit of shade being thrown. Then she let it go. Her head hurted too much for that.
" Omg! OK, I don't care. Somebody please drive me home. I need to get in a bed!"
Randy leaned over on the couch and lifted her up gently. Achan held the doors open as he carried her all the way to the van Achan borrowed from his mom. He's always been a perfect gentleman.

"Please just let me pull out the Copland, Mr. Baker!" Tristian had been pleading with Mr. Baker forever to give him another trumpet.
"There's no point of pestering me about this young man. You not getting that horn."
"But I can't keep buzzing on this mouth piece forever!"
"Yes. Then with Pete and Mya gone we'll need your sound for the competition next week."
Tristian nodded his head in agreeance.
"So I guess Friday will be a good time to pass them out. Thanks for reminding me, T." Baker started walking out if his office and into the flustered hallways. Tristian zig zagged through the crowd to follow him.
"I need a horn right now sir."
"And I'll need you to wait until next week young man."
"This nigga always on some bullshit" nice he said that Mr.Baker wipped around and grabbed Tristian by his collar.
"Boy what did you say?!''
"Nothing sir."
"Speak up!"
"Nothing sir!"
Mr. Baker let him go then continued on to his office, without saying a word.
"Don't make me crack up with that story Tristian!" Monica was cracking up as he told her what happened with Mr.Baker
"It ain't even that funny tho."
"Sorry bro. You want my horn to practice on?"
"Really?" He reached for the horn and she snatched it back.
"Ha! Gottiiiiii..."
He sucked his teeth.
"Dag what you salty?"
"Hell yea I'm salty! Do you know how bad I'm going to sound this week with out practice? Do you know how irritated I've been buzzingbon a mouth piece and an invisible horn? And I'm going to-"
"I, I ,I. Is that all that you think about?"
"What you mean?"
" I always knew you were a little slow. Let me break it down for you. You remember a lot from your freshman year , right?"
"Yes."
"Don't you remember that day we had this parade downtown. It was rainy and cold. Then we only had 5 trumpets. But only one came on time ?"
"Yes.''
"Who was that?"
"Me."
"Then what happened after that?"
" I almost peed on myself when it was time for us to start the parade. For the most part I was coo because we barely played music in the beginning. Then out of the blue Baker called 'JumpStart.' I thought I was gone fuck up on our solo part ,but I didnt. I sounded good and I was loud. Right after that you and Jason came from off of the sidelines and finished the parade with us."
"You held it down all by yourself."
Tristian smirked. "Yeah. I guess so."
"The same way you didn't need us that day,the band doesn't always need you."
