"Take it back! All the way back!" the Jefferson High School band director was frustrated with his band. It was ten o' clock at night and they were still practicing .They had started learning a halftime show last week but hadn't retained anything. People kept forgetting the commands,the freshman weren't playing and no one was marching. And yet the Michigan band was hosting the competition next week.
"What is y'all problem?" The band director yelled.
"We have a competition in two days,and y'all are acting remedial? And y'all know Washington is heading down here to come after y'all. You dont think think they hungry? Y'all not going home tonight. Top of the show!"

Back at Washington
"Alright band let's have as it down." Mr. Baker said after a good day of practice. It was 5:30 and the band was bemused at the fact they were being dismissed this early.
"We've been putting in work for the past two months, and I must say I'm excited. I think we've prepared enough to do what we need to do when we see Jefferson and all of those other bands. So tomorrow take the time to get your stuff packed and get your mind right. Call time is 5:30. You are dismissed."
