Clinic hours: 9:00 am-3:00 pm

The sign on the right-hand side of the building read.

You take a breath and exhale deeply.

Alright, I got this!

One more person, and I've completed my task of introducing myself to everyone in town!

You open the door and walk in, greeted by more of what you expect from a small-town clinic.

Maru, wearing a nurse uniform, sits behind the reception desk. Upon your arrival, she smiles brightly. "Hi, (F/n)! What brings you by? Do you have an appointment already?"

"No, I have one more person on my list of townspeople to meet. A doctor?"

Her eyes lit up. "Oh, yes!"

"Is he in right now? If so, is he busy?"

She shakes her head. "Not at all!" Maru gets up and motions to a door left from the counter. "He should be through this door, down the hall, and to the room on your right."

"Thank you," You say, trying to mask the nervousness in your voice as you follow her precise instructions. Lightly knocking on the door as instructed, and a moment later, a voice calls out from inside. The door opens to reveal a man with brown hair, wearing glasses and a neatly pressed doctor's coat. His piercing green eyes meet yours as he returns your nervous smile, letting you speak first.

"H-hi..." You stammer, feeling a bit out of place. "I'm (F/n). I just moved here."

"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Harvey, the local doctor." The man greets warmly. "I perform regular check-ups and medical procedures for all the residents of Pelican Town. It's rewarding work." Harvey comments. "I hope you'll find your own work equally rewarding in time." He expresses kindly.

As you utter, "Thank you, and I hope so too." You find yourself pausing for a moment, unsure of how to further engage in the conversation other than offering your name. Although you hadn't felt the need to introduce yourself to anyone else in town in full detail just yet, something about this person exudes a comforting aura, prompting you to take a moment longer in his presence. "Well... um, I just wanted to introduce myself, so I'll see you around?"

Harvey smiles and nods. "Thank you. Feel free to stop by my office if you're ever feeling ill. You're young though, you'll probably stay healthy without trying."

You strain against the solid barrier of thick ice that separates the two of you. "I'll try to give it my all, doc!" With a final wave, you take your leave from the man, walking down the hallway. "Bye!"

So, that's the new farmer...

Harvey thinks, nodding in approval.

"Bye, Maru! I'll see you later!" You display as you make your way to the exit.

"Goodbye, (F/n)! Feel free to visit us again. And be careful in the heat, or your face will turn even redder!" The girl behind the counter laughs as she waves goodbye.

You stop in your tracks, a puzzled expression on your face. "Even redder?"

She points at your cheeks, provoking you to touch your face to feel the warmth emanating from your skin.

"What the?" You wonder aloud, perplexed as you had only been outside briefly. "I'll try!" You offer with a baffled smile.

Stepping out of the building, the sun's rays embrace you once more, and you inhale the fresh air, still adjusting to the town's charms.

Time to get to work!
