"Yeah, he just ran right out into the road; didn't even bother to look or anything! He's lucky I didn't hit his stupid ass!" I practically yelled into my headset, then took a long draw off the blunt I'd brought up to my lips before continuing. "And then he shows up at the station! I think he might have been on something, there was just something so off about the dude."
"That sucks, man. I had this drunk guy come in the other night at my uncle's diner and raise seven kinds of hell over us not serving him quick enough," Drake said with a trace of annoyance.
"Yeah, people suck," Parker added to his boyfriend's statement.
"They sure do. But I wouldn't worry about it. Guys probably a doped out drifter. I doubt you'll ever see him again," Ben added, clearly bored of the conversation.
"You're probably right, Benny boy. But it was just a weird situation," I said, taking one more quick draw off my blunt. I put it out and sat it in my ashtray for safe keeping, then sat back up in my chair, getting ready at my keyboard. "Now my dearest companions, shall we raid this mother fucking dungeon!!"
"Yep," Drakes said plainly.
"Let me finish healing and… yep, ready!" Parker added.
"Been ready, losers," Ben mocks playfully.
"Alright, let's gooo!!" I say chipperly.

The next night I was standing boredly, half laid on the counter, while Tex was busy stocking the cooler in the back. I glanced up at the familiar sound of the door chime and my heart dropped. My eyes were met with that same pair of green ones. I quickly stood up straight, breaking eye contact with him. He had the same outfit as the last time I'd seen him– mask, dirty hoodie, and all.
"E-evening," I greeted with a nod in his direction. I tried my best to ignore the sinking feeling of dread I felt in his presence.
"Evening~" He said with a chuckle, glancing over at me and sending a shiver down my spine.
'Why the hell does this guy bother me so much…' I thought to myself, as I watched him walk around the store.
He made his way up to counter the same four Monsters, a couple candybars, and a hotdog. I began to ring up his items, trying to ignore his hash gaze.
"Alrighty, anything else tonight?" I said, looking up with my best customer service smile and trying my best not to let this guy know he got to me. I don't know why, but it seemed like the kind of thing this creep would get off on, and I refused to give him that satisfaction.
"No, that'll be all, doll~" He chuckled, looking me in the eyes and causing a shiver to run down my spine.
"Alright, your total is $18.45," I said, doing my best to keep my customer service smile while looking at him. There was a coldness in his eyes; Almost like he was a wolf looking at his next meal and not a human looking at another human. I could tell he was smiling under that mask he wore, which didn't help my growing feeling of unease around him.
He pulled a 20 from his hoodie pocket and slid it across the counter to me.
"Thank you," I said, picking it up quickly, ringing it in, and pulling out the change. I held it out to him. "Alright, your change is $1.55, and would you like a bag for that?"
"If you wouldn't mind" He said, taking the change from me, his cold white fingers brushing against mine. He stuffed the change into his pocket.
"No… Problem," I said, slowly leaning down to grab the bag and hand it to him.
"HEY, Y/N! COULD YA COME BACK HERE FOR A SEC?" I heard Tex's thick southern drawl call from the back room that attaches to the cooler.
"COMING!" I hollered back, moving to step around the counter and head for the back. "Have a good night, sir," I called over my shoulder, quickly heading for the back.
"Jeff." I heard his gruff voice call behind me.
"Hm?" I turned my head to look back at him, his bright green eyes locking with mine and sending another chill through me.
"My names Jeff~" He chuckled chipperly, never breaking eye contact with me. His smile only seemed to grow under his mask.
"Oh..Um, well, have a good night then, Jeff" I said, quickly turning back around in an attempt to speed off into the back and make my escape.
"You too, y/n~" He chuckled.
I couldn't help but shiver when he said my name. Just something about the way he said it made my skin crawl.
I felt him staring a hole in the back of my head until I walked into the back, out of sight. I heard the door chime shortly after. Sighing in relief, I walked over to the cooler door to see what Tex needed.
"So what'd you need, jackass?" I said playfully, poking my head into the cooler and looking toward the mountain of a man that is Tex.
He walked up, holding out a couple boxes to me. "I'm runnin behind, can ya stock the roller grill for me?"
"Sure thing."
"Thanks, you're a life saver. You and I both know if I ain't got this done by the time Eliza gets here, she'll have both our asses."
"That I do, so don't worry about the food– I got it– you just finish up in here," I said, walking out of the cooler and back to the front of the store. I grabbed some gloves and stocked the food in the roller grill to cook.
