The church was in celebration, completely tidy and organized. Nearly every person in the church, from volunteers to the priest, specifically those whose mere curiosity won over, made haste over the coming of age of one of the best-attending families— the Hwang Family.

The infamous eldest and only son of the Hwang Couple was seen sitting next to his mother in the chairs that resembled more like thrones, adorned with pretty stones and flowers, representing them both as important people in the church. Further ahead was his father’s chair, enormous without needing to be adorned the same way, with quite a few differences, such as its adornment with gold and silver, luxurious stones with intricate lining, and a pattern to more accurately represent his importance and reputation to the church.
Those thrones were unnecessary; it seemed that his father wanted to show everyone how superior his family was. With one look at the three thrones, anyone would know who values superiority, as if he were God himself. The chairs are a little far from the altar, but still at the altar, where the frontman lectured on the words of the Bible.

Hyunjin relies on comfortable fashion rather than tight, hot clothing. The church has provided and owned a couple of huge electric fans and air conditioners; however, they do not beat the heat in the attire he had to wear for the occasion. Hyunjin felt himself fidgeting with his fingers, tapping on his thighs, and pulling the fabric that sits and brushes against his wrists.

Today, he had to wear a formal white blouse and tight dress pants, not to mention the dress shoes, which were so tight that he could not even feel his toes wiggle. He was practically stuck on a ridiculous chair, the blouse tight on his wrist, and the heat from the weather could have had him collapsing on the floor if it weren’t for a nice little girl mentioning his suffering to one of the volunteers a few levels down. The volunteer granted his every wish, moving the electric fan near his family enough to move on to another discomfort caused by none other than a bind—the necklace dangling about. A silver necklace with chains and a cross as a pendant. Hyunjin had been wearing the necklace as of the age of five. He was ordered to never get rid of it unless in the shower or if he developed a rash. The lonely cross was soon to be paired with a ring he had received when he turned 17. From another, equally important, shepherd family who were arranging his marriage to a girl.

Well, an arranged marriage would be a splurge for any young man. For the young woman graced beauty not quite as his, but she was desired by many. Imagine the agony Hyunjin has bestowed on them. It was not his choice, but the father of the young woman took a liking to the young man who could withstand his daughter’s beauty, thus the child, the heir she might bear, would have as much beauty and grace as their parents. The family thinks Hyunjin and she were a match made in heaven, and when it was verbally executed, the clouds darkened as if a storm would surge, but the banter and discussion resumed.

“The heavens must think you two are not a match, but we, the family of her, and our precious girl, herself think so very well.” The father spoke with glee, visible in his tone.

Hyunjin’s gut has told him many things which have come true; most of those were the destiny that lies upon his possible lovers. No one has ever come close to her, the sweet, preserved young woman like him. He felt guilt engulf him as soon as he came into contact with her. Understanding the desire of others, he came to be grateful for the time and opportunity, though he had prayed to God to lessen what could happen to her. He knows what lies his possible lovers, or suitors. Death.

All of them. Death.

Deaths among his possible fiancé’s suitors flooded their area, and before people could open their filthy mouths to accuse innocents, the young woman and her family passed away in a car accident soon after.
