It sings of Death

Chapter 14: The Day the dead came walking.

Bic, Wendy, Max, Serene, and Serena ran through the woods and stopped by a river. It seemed they had lost the zombies and the place they were in was tranquil, enchanting, and beautiful. The sound of the water flowing and the birds chirping could calm anyone down to absolute relaxation and bliss if not for the current situation.

Serena:
Are you all Right? All of you?

Bic:
Yeah, considering the situation.

Wendy:
(Breaks down crying) They killed Mum.

Serene squats down and hugs Wendy tight.

Serene:
Okay, okay don't cry, it's gonna be alright okay?

Max:
No, it's not.

Bic:
Max.

Max:
No. Crying is the last thing we should be doing. Those zombies are coming back and only the strong will survive.

Serena:
I like this kid.

Bic:
Serene what's happening?

Serene:
Now is not the best time to explain.

Bic:
I don't care, I need to know. Now!!

Wendy takes out her phone.

Wendy:
Here (sobs) maybe this will tell us something.

Bic:
Your phone?

Wendy:
Yeah. I have a news app on it, I just hope we have a good connection here.

Max:
You listen to the news? lame.

Wendy:
I just like to stay informed.

Serene:
(impressed) I like this kid.

Wendy:
(plays the news) Oh my God.

News reporter:
There have been reports of people coming back to life all over Europe. It seems the Dead have come back to life and are terrorizing the continent. People describe them as zombies. Fictional creatures that spread a virus or curse with a single bite of a victim's flesh. They do seem to carry the same characteristics as zombies that is: slow yet persistent movement toward living creatures, No sense of pain, Decayed bodies, and superhuman strength. However, it does not seem as though being bitten makes you a zombie because victims show no changes after being bitten. It has, however, been claimed that a strange shrieking noise may be responsible because the occurrence began when radios, phones, speakers, and other audio devices connected to the internet or radio across the continent, reportedly starting from Greece. Spontaneously began playing this noise. the noise also seems to affect the sick, injured, and dying by causing them to commit suicide. They claim to her music when they hear the noise claiming it as beautiful.

Wendy:
That's what Mum did when she heard the noise.

Serene and Serena look at each other with concern.

News reporter:
Please be advised that even though the zombies are numerous do not panic. They move quite slowly so just keep ahead of them. Also, stay in places where you have multiple escape routes, and do not stay in a room that is enclosed otherwise you will be cornered. Contrary to popular belief shooting them in the head does not defeat them and separating their body parts seems to be more effective but nothing seems to kill them. Burning and freezing them also seems to slow them down and nothing short of complete obliteration will stop them completely. Also, animals and plants seem to react to the sound. So as long as something was once living it can also still cause damage so avoid getting pricked by plants or getting injured by anything that was once living.

Now we broadcast live to the sites of Anarchy some images may be too graphic for the weak of heart.

There were images of people jumping from buildings, stabbing themselves in hospitals, people being bitten and others being dragged to death. There was screaming and running in panic. It was all such horrifying images.
