Mobius pulled his key card through the slot to open the door to the enclosure room. The hunters guarding the cat-like thing we're sitting around the table playing poker for little balled up pieces of paper.

Mobius set his files down on the edge of the table, out of the way of the game.

"Hey guys, looks like you're keeping a close watch there. How's our guest? "

F-49 gestured at the enclosure. "See for yourself, it spent most of the time asleep. We tried to feed it once but it only ate a bite, hissed at us and went to sleep again."

"Fold!" C-23 threw down his cards, admitting defeat.

Mobius tapped his folder on the desk. "Looks like you win again, N-40."

"It was never a question, Mobius." she scooped up her paper winnings. "Next time join us for a rematch."

"Only, if you're still playing for paper. I'm not losing any more of my Josta stash."

"Too bad, I might have come across a whole case of Crystal Pepsi." N-40 collected all the cards and stuffed them back in the box.

"Twist my arm why don't you. Alright, but we play Gin instead, gotta give me a fighting chance."

B-15 entered the room just then. "Count me in, I got some stuff you might be interested in."

N-40 and the other hunters got up from the table and started filling out. "And I suppose you won't fill us in until we're ready to bet, huh."

"You know it, but I don't think you'll be disappointed." B-15 slapped her hand as she passed out the door.

Mobius picked up the Tempad they had left behind to record the frequency for the time collar. "Looks like we got a match."

"Great, let's try it out and we'll see if we can control it. "

After recalibrating the remote to work with the new frequency, B-15 picked up her pruning stick and twisted it. The end lit up indicating it was ready to dispatch any problematic cat behaviour. Mobius thought that was a bit excessive.

"It's still in the cage, I don't think that'll be necessary." Mobius, raised the remote and prepared to enter the sequence and release the collar.

"Are you worried it'll be offended? Trust me it's necessary, even if it's only to remind us not to drop our guard," she stated firmly and stood ready. She had pulled a few hunters from other tasks and stationed them outside the door in case things went south.

"Ok, here we go," Mobius entered the sequence. The collar made something of a clicking sound and startled the cat awake. It dashed frantically around the cage for a second, then came to rest again in the middle of it.

" Damn , It didn't come off." Mobius shook the remote.

B-15 had moved closer to the enclosure as she watched the cat trying to tug the collar off with its feet.

"Well at least it did something."

"Must be stuck. We might have to find some way of knocking it off, poor thing is getting distressed," Mobius said scratching the back of his neck.

B-15 turned her head for a second to look at Mobius.

"Get the tranquilizer out, we'll have to risk getting the dosage right, just start on the lower side."
