Zen POV:
It was currently 2:19am and Mika was just not going down to bed anytime soon, he was hyper as can be, despite his yawning that is just for show at this point. We've been in bed for the past 3 hours trying to fall asleep, but as always Mika didn't want to sleep in his own bed, and the kid failed to understand what sleep meant.
"Dada Dada Dada look look" he chanted while shoving a stray thread in my face "do you think it's from a witches cloak?"
Asahi groaned "why would it be from a witches cloak?"
"Well papa if you were as smart as me you'd know that the witches like to wear long cloaks and it got caught on the bed frame duhhhhhh" Mika planted his hands right on asahis chest as he got up in his face before moving to crawl to me "Dada Papa is a dum dum like the suckers, oooo can I have a sucker? "
I sigh deeply and smile "absolutely not, and let's not call your papa dumb, okay? That's not very nice"
"He sleep, didn't hear, it's fine" Mika didn't even listen to me before crawling off the bed to get some toys before piling them up on the bed
"No, it's nearly three in the morning, and I am not sleeping with a million toys on my bed"
"Dada.. Ours" Mika said with a smirk, and boy if I could wipe that smirk off his face
"You know absolutely what I meant little boy"
"But dada papa says sharing is caring and I'm sharing my toys with you, do you not wanna share with me? " he looked at me with the biggest puppy eyes ever and I picked him up
"Baby bear, you know that's not how it is, do you want to help me put them up and we can get a drink down stairs? Hmm? We don't want to wake papa up again" I sat Mika down and scooped most of the toys leaving him to carry only a few back across to his room
After grabbing his bear and paci, I lifted him up and made my way to the kitchen. I made waffles and hot chocolate for us as I handed him my phone to play music to keep him preoccupied.
"Dada.. Want cell song" I groaned at the fact that asahi even showed him that, it was a song of my dark past, yet my husband felt the need to show the kid that I still sing along to it in my sleep
"How about a different songs bubs? "
"NO NO NO NOO NOOOO" He started slamming his hands on the table and leaning back in his seat
"One." I said sternly as I steadied the chair "with that attitude I won't be playing anything, and you will be back in your room" I felt bad threatening to send him to his room, since he sleeps with us quite literally every night, and only uses his room to play in, but he can't be having a tantrum in the middle of the night, and this is the fastest way to get his attention
"No Dada no" he started crying and reaching for me "no room just cells peaseeee cells" I rocked him as I started playing the damn song, I would rather listen to baby shark honestly, but he softly sang along to it. I gave up the fight and smiled, cause after all he was obsessed because of me, even if my idiot husband was the one to show him. "Cells cells theys made of orgazells"
I laugh at how he butchers the lyrics, and get him a bottle for his hot chocolate as I see he's slipping more the song proceeds on "here baby, let Dada feed my handsome boy"
"Dwink dada, choco choo choo" he curled into my lap and tugged on my shirt with an open mouth
As I lifted the nip to his mouth, he latched on, drinking steadily as I patted his back in a nice slow rhythm. Once it was all gone and he was all but asleep, I had the time to drink mine. I place the dishes in the sink and place the waffles in the fridge for the morning as I carry the kid back upstairs. I barely place him down when his eyes pop back open
" dada" he scuffled over to my side of the bed "Dada story? " I gave up and plopped down as I looked at the clock 4:37
Oh dear gods send me energy
"Of course bubs, let me guess, Edward Tulane again?" And when an eager nod was received, I heaved the book off it's shelf and started reading the long ass book to my demon child, I should have known it was gonna be a long night
