***"Where do you want to go?"

"The beach...let's go to the beach, the sky looks the best from there."

Outside was quiet, not the peaceful kind of quiet.

They knew it was coming, the Earth had begun to shake. The girl helped the boy into the car. Even simple movements were hard for him now.

The road was smooth, the car glided over the concrete streets.

She stopped the car in front of the beach so they didn't have to walk that far.

She admired him a while before she woke him.

"Hey...we're here." She helped him out of the car again. His arm over her shoulder and hers around his waist, he couldn't walk on his own anymore.

Once they were close to where the waves rushed onto shore but not close enough to get wet, she sat him down. Then she sat down herself.

She cupped his face in her hands.

The honey sky and lemon sun reflected off his mask.

She felt something for him, something that she'd never felt before.

Even though it was all quickly coming to an end, she was more than happy to meet the end with him.

Her words were sweet.

"She'd be proud...she'd be so, so proud of you."

The sand hugged the shape of their bodies.

Her arms around his body.

His lungs were clear.

It was warm.

They said nothing but they said everything.

The sky was honey gold so lucid they could taste it.

They tasted death, it was sweet.

Sweet, sweet death.

The buttery sun met with the admiral blue water.

Even the ocean didn't want to spend this moment alone.

She removed his mask and then hers.

They didn't gasp for air, they were okay for that moment.

She looked into his deep chestnut eyes and his colorless lips.

She looked into comfort and so did he.

The waves of the ocean filled their eyes.

These tears were not sad nor were they happy.

They were tears of relief. Tears of the end.

War was over.

She leaned her body in, and pressed her warm lips to his.

Spherical death crashed through the sky, taking the clouds first.

Time slowed.

Even it had to admire the beauty of death.

The world shook.

Silence.

Light.

Darkness.
