Annoying.

That was the word.

That for sure was the word to define that night.

Sara Lance sat across some guy name Thomas, someone she met a few weeks ago and that kept asking her out until she finally said yes. And she couldn't remember why she did it in the first place.

She was a former assassin, she died, she came back to life, she joined a bunch of heroes to save the timeline as they traveled across time and space, she had no idea why she said yes to that guy, thinking she could pretend she could have a normal life, 'cause she couldn't. Her mind was far away thinking about the last mission while she nodded with her head, fake smiling and pretending to care about whatever the guy was talking about. It was probably something about his boring job.

She left some money at the table, finally having enough, and got up.

- I'm sorry, I gotta go now...

She waved at him, turned around and was ready to leave.

- Hey, Sara? I was going to pay and...

- You can keep the change – She said, finally leaving the restaurant, taking a deep breath of relief.

She checked her phone as she walked down the street, noticing Barry Allen was calling her and she smiled.

- Hello there!

- Hey Cisco...sure, I can stop by, I'm sorry I couldn't pick the phone up earlier... I was busy with work, you know...

- Barry, what the hell? Are you drunk calling me? Oh wait, you can't get drunk... Is this some kind of prank?

- Ok, I'll meet you at Star Labs... I'll text you the info I got... Ok bye.

Sara stared really confused at her phone, when she got a message from Barry.

- Sorry about that, I needed help to get out of a situation. I'll explain later, meet me at Jitters? – Sara read, worried something serious had happened to Barry.

She answered him, confirming that she would be there to meet him and turned her phone off.

She started to think about how life was funny and unpredictable. She had met Barry thanks to Oliver, when she used to help Team Arrow. They teamed up once and she got really close to the fastest man alive, sharing their experiences with trauma and hardships. He helped her overcome the feeling that she was darkness and didn't deserve to be happy, thanks to his bubbly personality and positivism that sometimes she found annoyingly cute. After that, every time she was in Central City, visiting her mom, they would meet to chat and sometimes team up to fight the bad guys.

Once Sara got to Jitters, she saw Barry waiting for her at a table, looking nervous and relieved at the same time.

- So... What was that? You got me thinking it was a prank or something...

- I'm sorry... I just... - Barry started to blush – I was on a date...

- Oh, things went south?

- Not like that. I just... We have nothing in common and I ended up saying yes cause I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but I actually don't feel like that for her, I thought it wasn't fair to her...

- Who's that again?

- Patty... From CCPD, she's new...

- Oh, you're such a good guy, thinking about her feelings...

- Not that much, I lied...

- Because you needed to. I understand. I was in the same situation a few seconds before you called. But I didn't feel like giving any excuses, so I paid my part of the bill, got up and left.
