The next morning

She got a good night's sleep for the first time in Cassidy's life. It was then rudely interrupted by loud door knocks echoing through her room. Cassidy slowly opens her eyes and rolls over, surprised to see the particularly handsome speedster lying by her side. Another loud knock booms at the door. Cassidy groans as she gets up to open her door slowly.

"Hey, sorry to wake you; I'm just wondering if you've seen Pietro? We were supposed to train this morning, but he never showed." Clint looked at her with concerned yet amused eyes, like he knew Pietro would be there. "Um, obviously not, since you just woke me up. Are you sure he didn't go on a run? You know, that's like his favorite thing to do." She says it with the most sarcastic response she could think of. "Okay, alright, I see you woke up on the wrong side of the bed; when you turn that frown upside down, I'll make you breakfast." Cass nods, giving her best attempt at a grin to Clint, shuts the door, and walks back to her bed.

Cassidy grabs a pillow and then whacks Pietro in the face several times before he finally wakes up. "Ow OW dragă, what is this brutal attack to wake me up for?" "Well, just to let you know, you missed your training session with Clint this morning, and he decided I was the one who knew where you were." "Oh, he'll get over it. Come on, lay back down so I can hold you." Pietro opens the covers with his eyes barely open, patting on the mattress. Cass hits him a few more times with the pillow before moving to get dressed. Pietro lets out a small groan, now having a slight headache from all the blows to the face by the pillow. When Cassidy got dressed, she felt the warmth of his arms wrapping around behind her as he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. Her face is flustered with heat as the feelings from last night rush over her; she pushes them down, turns around, kisses Pietro's cheek, tells him to get dressed, and goes to the kitchen to talk to Clint. With that, she walks out of her room, heading straight to Bucky's room.

Knock knock knock.. no answer. Knock knock knock.. again, no response. "Hey, Bucky, it's me. You can join me in the kitchen for some coffee if you want." Cassidy sighed. She was hoping he would open up that door with his dumb smile. Steve is walking by when he notices Cass at Bucky's door. "Good morning, Cass; if you are looking for Bucky, he's already in the kitchen." "Thank you, Steve." She nodded, walking away towards the kitchen. He was talking to Natasha when she turned around the corner. She picks up her pace and wraps herself around the man.

Buck was startled by the sudden action but immediately knew who it was, turning around and giving the small girl a good morning hug. "Well, good morning, Bug; how did you sleep?" She looks up at Bucky, then shoots her eyes over to Pietro, who was over by Clint talking; he looks over at her, hearing the question she was just asked and gives her a wink with that devilish smile she used to hate. Cassidy rolls her eyes and looks back up to Bucky, saying, "You know it was the best night's sleep I've gotten in a while, "giving a smile that almost exposes her. Cass lets go of him and walks over to the coffee maker, grabbing a cup. Just then, the man himself walks in. "Okay, I see how it is. I don't get invited to the party; that's it. You all get cuts in your paycheck." Everyone gives out a little snicker. Cassidy looks over at Tony Stark, thinking this is the perfect opportunity to bond with her father. She walks over to him and says, "Good morning, Father; what are you up to today?" "Morning, Bruce and I are working on a project involving the arc reactor and nanotech. You wouldn't want to help, would you?"

"Yeah, that would be awesome. I will follow you back up." Tony and Cassidy wave to everybody walking back to the laboratory, hardly saying a word on the way. When she walks through the doors, she sees all the screens running prognostics and surveillance data. "So, you said something about an arc reactor; what is that?" "You see this piece of metal in my chest? That's what the arc reactor is, but I figured I could use the same energy this small piece produces to make it bigger and better. Do you want to know what this is? It's a portable nuclear reactor that smashes hydrogen atoms into helium, like the sun, essentially creating an endless power source. This powers Stark Tower, and I want to incorporate it into the campus." "Okay, that was a lot to take in, but I think I understand what you're doing. You are trying to replicate the same power source from another building with this one to create a substantial source of clean energy?" Tony nods his head in agreement, and to Cassidy's surprise, she knew something. With that, she nods her head in a cocky way, shrugging her shoulders, and then follows her father over to the test table. They spent the next few hours running all sorts of tests trying to figure out how to make armor out of nanotech and how to switch energy sources until there was a knock on the door.
