Today, Haruto left for campus earlier than usual. He wanted to stop by the canteen for breakfast before his first class started.

"Hi!" someone tapped him on the shoulder from behind as he waited in line to pick up the buffet food at the canteen.

Haruto looked back. "Oh, Hiroto! You just startled me. Haven't you had breakfast yet?" he asked.

"I have. But now I don't know why I'm already sleepy even though it's still early. I just want to buy coffee," Hiroto replied.

The two of them then took their food and drinks to a table.

"You've finished the lab report, right, Haruto?" Hiroto asked.

"Yes," Haruto replied while chewing his food.

"I haven't. Just a little bit left. Can I see yours?" Hiroto asked with puppy eyes. This behavior of his friend was a habit that hadn't changed since the first semester. Without waiting for Haruto's answer, Hiroto already unpacked Haruto's bag and took a folder containing Haruto's work. Haruto just shook his head at his cute friend's behavior.

"I met a cute boy yesterday," Haruto said.

"Uh-huh. Where?" Hiroto asked without looking up from his writing.

"At a café near my house. I did my assignment there, and he was playing a game right opposite my seat."

Hiroto looked up. "Did you introduce yourself to him?"

"Technically, yes," Haruto answered after thinking for a minute.

"Technically? What do you mean?"

"He knows my name, but I don't know his name. He kind of got an emergency call."

"Poor Haruto. That's too bad. You have to go lurk at that café from now on to meet him again. Then you will be dating him, and we can go on a double date somewhere," Hiroto said.

"Wait, a double date? That boy you've had a crush on who's been a secret is finally going to be your boyfriend?" Haruto interrupted Hiroto's words.

"Not yet. But I still have some time until you go find him and get your own boyfriend," Hiroto said and laughed.

Haruto rolled his eyes. This boy.
