(I apologize in advance if the food dish said isn't your favorite food dish 😞)

Diavolo

It was a little crowded... well.. really crowded, since it was only 9:15 am and you know, it's a cafe. I could feel my hand getting really close to (f/n)'s which made me just a slight bit nervous.

"The breeze is really nice out here!" She smiled as I pulled out her chair. I'm really trying my best even thought this is kinda... out of character you could say, for me. "Yeah, but my hair keeps getting in my face."

I sighed and sat down in the chair across from her. I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about her birthday, which was in fact tomorrow. I wanted to take her out to some fancy (romantic) restaurant, but I don't think that's in the budget. So instead, I was planning on making her favorite food dish. Do I know that... not exactly. So that's why we're here, so I can plan (one night and a couple hours) ahead.

"So.. let's talk yeah?" She fiddled with her hair a bit and nodded. "Is there anything in particular you want to discuss? I mean.. I've memorized a lot of convention starters! Weird for a person who's very forgetful right?" Her enthusiasm made me laugh under my breath. "Yes.. I do. Do you have anything planned for your birthday?" I saw her head turn to the side. "Birthday? Noo that's months from now!"

"(f/n).. your birthday is tomorrow. But I understand if you forgot." Her eyebrows raised up in a instant. "Tomorrow?! Holy shit! how did I forget? Wait.. don't answer that...." She rested her cheek on her fist and exhaled. "No.. I don't have anything planned." I saw her frown, which made me frown a tiiiny bit. "Do you want to come to my house? I'd hate for you to celebrate alone." I say that ignoring the fact that I don't even celebrate my birthday, or I silently celebrate alone.

"Ohh? I'd love to Diavolo!" Her face suddenly lit up. I just needed to ask the question. "I appreciate how much you care about me. I know you're not always like that."

"Oh.. don't worry about it. I have one more question." I watched as she looked me in my eyes. Her (e/c) eyes were distracting me a little. "What's your favorite food dish?" She used a finger from the fist she was resting on to tap her face lightly. "Hmm... I don't really like big or fancy meals... but I do like Salmon occasionally." I guess I'd have to go to the store after I dropped her off too. Ah that's fine.

"Okay okay, last last question I swear, do you want any of your friends to come?" Her happy expression suddenly faded when I asked. Shit, wrong move. I guess it was supposed to just be a me and her thing. Not like that's bad, I wanted to take this opportunity to do something else as well anyways. "Um.. no. We aren't on very good terms right now." She murmured. I felt myself starting to anxiously sweat. "They got a little, "inpatient", you could say." I needed to calm down.

I put my hand on my forehead, the hair around it covering my hand. "I'm so stupid. I'm sorry for asking." I felt her warm hand touch the front of mine, which made me move my hand just to confirm. "You don't have to worry about that Diavolo. That's my issue and I should be the one to resolve it." I looked at her half eaten muffin that I didn't even know was there and then looked at her. "Please. You don't have to worry about me all the time."

I noticed myself fiddling with my hair. One of the great advantages of having long hair. I guess. "Okay.." I was starting to doubt everything. Why do I overthink so much? Am I caring too much for her? Is she getting tired of me? What the hell am I talking about. I heard her gentle laugh. "Diavolo.. can we go one more place before you take me home?" I blinked and looked up. What an amazing request. "Of course, where do you want to go?"

She stretched and put her bag on her shoulder. "I wanna go to the park. Just for a little." I stood up and moved my hair out my face. I didn't say anything after that, we just went to the car. I don't think the park was very far from here. I don't think...

"Umm.. do you know how to get there?" Yikes. How embarrassing. "Yeah, do you need me to drive?"

"What?! No! I just don't go often." I told myself I'd find my way there, and I truly hope I do. "It's close, really. You just go down this street and turn right." I gave her a thumbs up and went the way she had told me to go as the wind blew in the car from the window (f/n) had opened. "This one right?" She nodded and I did a silent cheer in my head.

"It's my favorite park. I've gone to this park since I first moved out here 5 years ago." I got out the car to the calm breeze blowing my polka dot hair and the smell of freshly cut grass. I guess I see why she likes this park so much. She suddenly took my hand and rushed to the large grassy field on the right side of the park. My heart thumped. From running, obviously.

"Let's sit right here. I have to talk to you about something." I crouched down and sat on the grass. I felt like I haven't done this in years. "So, what did you need to talk about?" She sighed before speaking. "Well.. thank you. You're so patient with me while my other friends aren't. That's why I didn't really wanna talk about them when we were at the cafe. I guess they got a little too impatient when I forgot things. Ever since last week they've been avoiding me."

I ran my hand through my hair, thinking of what to say. "Well, you're the only real thing that's keeping me occupied right now. I really do enjoy hanging out with you (f/n)." I noticed her face had lightened up to a light red which made me smile. "You're so sweet! I really didn't know how to tell you, it's kinda a awkward conversation. It's whatever i guess." She looked up at the sky, which was now a perfect shade of sky blue. We conversed for what felt like hours in that field before we decided to go. It was now almost 11 am.

"Ohh Diavolo. That time went by so quickly." I quickly looked over to see her slouched in the passengers seat. "It really did... I'll see you tomorrow though, yeah?" I looked over again as I parked in the parking lot of the apartment complex she lived in. "Most definitely! Im really looking forward to it." She grinned before opening the car door on her side. Before she walked out though, she gave me a unexpected kiss on my cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow Diavolo." She giggled before getting out the car and walking in her apartment building.

I could feel my faces temperature quickly increasing. (f/n) (l/n) had just kissed me. Oh my god.
