Jeon Jungkook looked down at me with concerned eyes.
"I..I..am fine.." I managed to stutter as I felt the momentary pain slowly fade.
"That's a relief. By the way, do you need anything here?"
His tone was soft and polite, and nowhere did he seem like the arrogant know-it-all guy who I saw from the previous day.
Maybe he was pretending.
Or maybe, he was really that polite even if possessing a talent in almost everything.
For now, my sole concern wasn't Jeon Jungkook. It was his club.
"Ummm...I...just wanted to talk to your captain."
"Oh...." Jungkook was clearly curious. Nevertheless, he pointed inside the room.
"There he is, the tall guy in the middle. He is Cha Chisoo, the captain of our Taekwondo club."
I bowed a little at him.
"Thanks."
And entered the room.
Facing Cha Chisoo proved to be far more intimidating than I thought. Well built and muscular, he towered over my relatively small frame like a giant. His frown and displeased look wasn't helping either. It was Jungkook's introduction that made me (surprisingly) calm my nerves a bit.
"Captain, she wants to talk to you."
I bowed politely at him.
"Hello. I am Y/N, a classmate of Jungkook."
Cha Chisoo instantly looked surprised.
"She is your classmate, Jungkook?"
Jungkook, on the other hand, looked pretty baffled as well.
"Umm.. I think I saw you in class, but I don't think...."
"...you know me, right?" I interrupted with a smile.
Jungkook gave an awkward nod.
I shrugged. "Well technically, only few people know me in this school anyway. I am always sitting at the back you are a front-bencher."
Jungkook's frown told that he was not happy with my explanation, but he said nothing.
"So, Y/N, what do you want to tell me?" It was Cha Chisoo who spoke.
"Actually, I heard that your club lacks a manager. So...."
"Forget it." Cha Chisoo immediately declared flatly. Not only that, he even motioned the others to follow him out of the room.
"But please listen to me first..." I raised my voice at him, attempting to stop him.
He, of course, did not stop.
"Are you rejecting me because I am a girl?" I finally asked, firmly.
He did stop on his track at that, but did not turn back.
"A club needs a manger, to carry out miscellaneous works like keeping account of the club, seeing that the members are have everything they need, and so on. I...I..can do that job. Believe me."
Cha Chisoo turned around, faced me, and with a grim expression, asked a question which I immediately understood was a trick.
"Why do you want to join the taekwondo club?"
This was a question that required a more unexpected answer, I guessed from the momentary surprise shown by Jungkook. Hence, I took my time to think about it.
