After the Pain, in Comes the Change: Attempt Number One

    After a very quiet but rough night for Zach, he had finally fell asleep in a chair across from Scarlett. She then started to open her eyes as the nurse walked in, Scarlett then tried to jump away but the nurse touched her shoulder and gave her a nice and kind smile. Something about that smile made her think that everything was okay. "Shh, Zach is asleep. He was up watching you all night, he really cares for you." The nurse whispered. 

"All he cares about it making sure I am changed forever, I will die because of this change. Literally." Scarlett said angrily whisper. The nurse then sat down beside her, close enough for Scarlett to hear her whisper. "My name is Aliza Watson, you can call me Liza or Watson...whatever you feel comfortable with. I went through the same thing, and I am not dead. I am very much alive, and I love living here and I love my life." Explained Aliza.

"Now tell me, were you told to do that by your mate Elijah? It is written on your chest." Scarlett asked. Aliza looked down, then back up at Scarlett with glowing red eyes. "Yes, but it's because he loves me, and I love him. We are meant to be together." Aliza replied.

"He made you think that way Aliza, did you know him before this life? Can you remember anything? Family? Friends?" Scarlett pushed. Aliza replied confused and slightly angry," No, but I don't need to I love him and the second you let in Zach then you will see what I mean..." 

Scarlett replied," I doubt it, but whatever..." Nurse Watson then looked at the counter, slowly walked over to the counter and grabbed a needle. "No, please don't. You don't have to, I was just asleep and I won't try to escape..." Zach then grabbed Scarlett at the shoulder and wrist and said softly," It's ok, this is simply to help you feel better and to help heal your mind and body." Scarlett begun to fight as she was in a lot of pain and said," No, please please. If you say you love me so much then let me go..." Nurse Watson then looked at Zach awaiting for the nod, and when it finally did she rubbed Scarlett's arm with some alcohol and stabbed her in the arm with a shot of antibiotics. Aliza then increased her dose of sedative in order to let the antibiotics work, Scarlett then slowly calmed down as her eyes slowly closed as she fell asleep into the fade of night. 

     Another few hours passed by as Zach watched her look less pale and more human like. "She looks almost human again... I am gonna miss that as soon as the antibiotics kick in..." Zach explains. 

Nurse Aliza replied," She will looked perfect come the next few hours, but in the mean time...I was told by Doctor Z that you may not start to try and get in her head...but if you push her I will see it in the monitor and I will smack you in the back of the head." Zach gave a giggle and replied," Funny how it won't hurt." Zach then went to the side of Scarlett's bed, grabbed her hand and begun trying to get into her head. At first he started to wince in pain and mumbled," I can't get her to let me in..." Aliza replied laughing," I am sorry, are you saying she is stronger than you? The Zach Nicholas has met his match?" Zach got upset and yelled," I just want to make her feel better by changing her for the better?!" Aliza then looked at Zach and said with her hand on his shoulder," Take a deep breath and go at it with a clear and calm perspective..." 

     After a few minutes Zach grabbed her hand, and thought nice and calming thoughts until everything went dark for Zach. "Where the hell am I?" Scarlett asked in a panic. She then raced over to the door, the door was locked and wouldn't budge. Zach exclaimed surprised," It worked! It really worked, and...you let me in." Scarlett turned around slowly and asked confused and angry," I let you in? I let you....HOW THE HELL DID I LET YOU IN?! You are trying to KILL ME!" 

Zach replied softly," It is your subconscious...Deep down inside there is a part of you that wants to be with me, you want to change, and you want to change for me." She then pushed him in anger as she said," I will NEVER be like you. EVER" Zach then walked closer, grabbed her hips from behind and said," That's it, get angry. You are mad because you love me." Scarlett pushed his even harder and yelled louder," NO, LET GO!" Zach then grabbed her hips, pulled her in and kissed her. After a few minutes Zach and Scarlett both woke up gasping for air. "I told you I would get her to wake up..." Zach said out of breath from the brain transference. After checking Zach, Nurse Aliza then went to check on Scarlett but before she could; Scarlett looked up with glowing red eyes. Zach looked at her in shock and excitement," I knew I would get you there, and I knew you would let go for me..." Zach said with a huge smile. Scarlett then looked at Aliza and said in a small voice," I would get out if I were you..." Scarlett said. Zach nodded towards the nurse and said," This may not be very pretty looking in a few minutes so please leave for your safety." Aliza then ran out the room towards the hallway, she then ran into Doctor Z.

"What is going on?" Doctor Z asked. "Scarlett woke up with red eyes, Zach then tried to match her, but she seems so much stronger, her eyes were burning brighter than Zach and I think she's gonna try and kill him." Doctor Z looked confused and said," That's not possible, she's human...not....Oh no..." They all then took off running towards the room, but when they got closer Zach went flying through the door. As he was looking up at the doctor's he asked," Hey doc, one question...why is she stronger than me and how the hell do I stop her?" The Doctor then looked at the men doctor's and said," Get her, hold her, and wait for my okay to let go." Doctor Z then looked at Zach and said rushed," This is our one and only option chance, she is a clean slate. As of this moment she has forgotten everything and is focused on you, and the hatred for you. I need you to challenge her and win, she may she physically stronger but you are mentally stronger. You need to make your eyes shine brighter than hers and shut her down. When she begins to calm, I will then sedate her and she will sleep....but I need to sedate you too and when you both wake; she should be completely yours, in every way. Okay? Ready?" Zach nodded. 

     Zach then walked up to Scarlett and put his one hand on his shoulder, and then her other hand on her cheek. As her eyes glowed stronger, so did his. After a few minutes she started to scream in more and more anger, Zach stayed calm, cool and collected. "You need to let go, you need to calm down and you need to give in before your body collapses..." Scarlett then began to calm into a more sad face and voice," Please, don't do this. I don't want to change, and I don't want to become like you. I want to live, I do not want to be undead." After a few moments of calm Doctor Z then stabbed her in the upper arm and said," Okay, Zach it's your turn. Are you ready?" Zach smiled and replied," Do it, but catch me..." He then got stabbed with a needle. Scarlett and Zach then began to slowly go to their knees, getting closer and closer to the ground they begin to slowly fall asleep. One of the guards picked up Scarlett and put her into a surgical bed, three different guards picked up Zach and slowly put him in a bed as well. "Now, close your eyes and see your girl in your dreams, and like promised... she will be dreaming about you as well." Doctor Z explained. Zach then slowly started to fall asleep and started to mutter," If I wake up before her, we are....we..." He then stopped talking and fell asleep. Doctor Z looked at Nurse Aliza and said worried," If he wakes before her, then she has rejected the shot. Most people don't, but she is strong, and it could be a factor to think about. If he wakes up before her, she needs to be the first one awake so if he seems like he needs help, then help him. Hallucinations, delusions, anything to help him win. Got me?" 

"But that seems a little unfair..." Aliza said. Doctor Z lashed back and said immediately," Yes, but we need this, and I mean NEED this. So you will do whatever you need to...or you will be put in the pit...Okay?" Aliza's face grew fearful and worried," No, please no...You can't, I will make sure she stays asleep and he will win." Doctor Z patted her on the back and said with a huge smile," Okay, and of course...if this does not work, no pit. But if I catch anything different on the cameras, my guys will come for you and throw you in the pits... Got me?" Aliza nodded with her head down. The doctors then left immediately and locked the doors behind them, the room went quiet except for Zach and Scarlett making noises that sounded like fun...
