Ron was having a roweled with Hermione about Harry's fire bolt. The trio saw the gift with no name. Hermione, worried about Harry's safety, went to McGonagall to report. The head of Gryffindor's house took the fire bolt away to be tested before returning it to Harry. Ron is yelling and insulting Hermione about the fire bolt being taken away. His brothers walk in and see the scene in which they ask Harry, and Harry tells them. The twins mad went towards Ron and hit him on the noise.

—: "Why did you do that?" Ron asks.

—: "Stop insulting Hermione on something that is not yours," said the twins in unison.

—: "But what she did is not tight; we can win the house cup," said Ron.

—: "But it is not your broom," said the twins.

—: "But," said Ron.

—: "Stop it, Ron. The only person who needs to be mad at Hermione is me. You don't see me yelling at her," said Harry.

—: "But you should, Harry. Anyway, I am doing it for you since you are too nice to say anything. Let's face it, she is nothing," said Ron.

—: "I am not Ron. You don't think for me or say things that I won't say. Hermione is my friend and cares more about my safety than some people," said Harry.

By then, the common room is filling up with students. The chasers of the quidditch team are up to the twins to get the entire story. The girls were mad at Ron. But what no one excepted was that the quidditch captain of Gryffindor came in with other seven year boys to see a crying Hermione in Harry's arms. It broke him. It broke Oliver Wood to see his witch at the hands of another wizard upset about something. Fred Weasley, one of the twins, went to Oliver and told him what happened. Oliver saw red. He approached Ron and hit him in the face before going to Hermione. He took her away from Harry's grip. He cradled her in his arms and whispered sweet things. He kisses her lips before eyeing Ron.

—: "What? What are all of you looking at? You know she is a know-it, busy, bossy, and ugly witch. She is lucky to have Harry and me as her friend. She won't have one. She doesn't have many friends and likes to destroy anything fun. Everything she gets from books. She goes to the bloody library and is a teacher's pet. Come on, you all can't just defend her like that. Mostly you, Wood. She took our chance to win the house cup," said Ron.

—: "Not, you prat," said Oliver.

—: "What?" Ron asks.

—: "Fred told me what Hermione did, which I am proud of because she looked after my players, which I sometimes don't. She helps with plays and quidditch strategies. Bookworm she may be, which I am grateful for because it helps me with my studies and personality. She is only Harry's friend but my girlfriend. She has friends in other houses Ronald leaves her alone. Leave my seeker alone. Leave them alone. I won't have any more of this. You will not be near to them. You will not speak to them. You will not distract Harry or Hermione. You will not use my girlfriend as your punching bag or to do your homework. You will do it by yourself," said Oliver.

—: "You can't say that because Harry needs me. He loves my family, and my family loves him. So he will stay to be my friend," said Ron.

—: "You idiot," said the twins.

—: "Harry doesn't need conditioning in his friendships, mostly with the past he has," said Oliver.

—: "Plus, he has more friends with us and our family," said the twins.

—: "But you are not in his year," said Ron.

—: "So," said the twins.

—: "Plus, your father will say something about it," said Harry looking at the site of Mr. Weasley, Ginny, Percy, and what he believes is Ron's older brother Bill Weasley.

—: "Nice to see you all," said Mr. Weasley looking at his son.

—: "Dad, what are you doing here?" Ron asks.

—: "Minerva fire call your mother Ronald to see if Bill had come home for if he is on break, which he is; see if he can come by to see Harry's broom and about your behavior. Ronald Billius Weasley. I am polled that you will do such a thing to your friends. Harry, I apologize, and you will always be part of our family so will you, Hermione. Oliver Wood, on behalf of my family and Hermione's, I thank you for defending her and being her boyfriend," said Mr. Weasley.

—: "But why?" Ron asks.

—: "Ron Harry's broom was checked for jinxes and charms with Black on the loose the broom can be used, or any suspected of you know who. It needs to be curse free even at practice, something as quidditch stayed knows," said Bill.

—: "Thank you, Bill," said Oliver.

—: "Anytime, Junior," said Bill.

—: "Can you stop calling me that?" said Oliver.

—: "Never," said Bill with a smile. Then they said, "You found a good witch, Wood. Don't lose her, or Charlie will have his wicked way with her."

—: "Never. She is mine, but I will respect you as her wizard family. Come, love, let's go for a walk," said Wood taking Hermione's hand. The couple walk away. In the corridors, Hermione snuggles up to Oliver and keeps wiping. Oliver stopped and held her in his arms until she was contained. She looked into his eyes and said, "I am sorry about Ronald. He may be right after all."

—: "No, don't think like that, love. You did what was necessary to do. Hell, I would have done it," Oliver said. Hermione nodded into his chest. "Also, we don't know who gritted to Harry; it can be anyone about the Weasleys. I know for a fact. Harry is lucky to have you as his best friend. And I am lucky to have you as my girlfriend," said Oliver.

—: "No, I am lucky to have you as my boyfriend, Oliver, my love," said Hermione.

—: "Ay, I love you," said Oliver.

—: "Love you too," said Hermione.
