Chapter 3

I was at home laying in my bed thinking about last night. I DIDN'T SLEEP WITH ANYONE. Rusty's brother had burst into the room just before anything exciting could happen. We didn't even get our clothes off.

Rusty's brother was furious with him. He cursed him all the way out. I felt bad for him. But I was also curious. Turns out the Jock that was with that little boy was also Rusty's brother. Hmmm.
I will have to figure out what's going on with that. 

I also have to get rid of Veronica. She was pretty mad at Rusty too. Rusty didn't say anything in my defense. He just looked guilty and ashamed. His head hung low and he only nodded or shook his head when asked questions. I was quickly kicked out of the house and Veronica screamed at me telling me to never go near Rusty or Jace again.

I hate that bitch Veronica. I want her gone.

Jace's POV

I don't know what's going on with that Y/n girl. I try not to think about her as I walk through the halls. When I finished putting some book in my locker I turned to see Rusty.

He looked sad and in pain. I knew that look in his eye. I grabbed his hand and took him into a nearby staff bathroom. He rolled up his sleeves to reveal bloody bandages on his wrist. "Why did you do this, I thought you stopped?" Rusty didn't make eye contact with me. "Rusty." I grabbed his face and made him look at me. "Answer me."

"I'm sorry." That's the only thing he said. I could tell her wanted to talk about it, so I rolled down his sleeves and we both walk out the bathroom.

Rusty POV

I found myself going to the Library. I was upset with my sister, but I wanted some comfort. After her and Jacob yelled at me, I felt really bad. Jacob said some things he didn't mean to say an tried to apologize, but I didn't want to talk to him.

I sat in the back of the library in a dark corner. I wanted her to see me but I also didn't. I soon heard the sound of footsteps behind me. I didn't look back, I knew who it was.

The chair beside me pulled out and there sat Ms. Brown, The librarian, My older sister. She stayed silent for a moment before speaking. "Did you...hurt yourself?" I didn't speak, I only nodded my head. She pulled me close and wrapped her arms around me rubbing my back in a comforting manner. "Evi-." She shushed me, "I'm Ms. Brown at school, Rusty" It was silent for a while. "Are you upset about what Jacob said to you?" I hummed a response, and closed my eyes so I wouldn't cry.

"First of all," she started, "I need you to understand that Jacob is hurting right now and didn't mean what her said-. He did mean it!" Ms. Brown looked shocked at my outburst but didn't stop my rant. "He's right after all, Miranda didn't love me!" I couldn't stop the sobs from coming out of my throat. "Then she died and the only thing she left for me was-"

Y/n came around the corner, looking back and forth at the both of us.

Y/n's POV

When I walked into the library to my favorite dark corner, I didn't expect to see the librarian, Ms. Brown, trying to steal my future boyfriend! I walked up to her and slapped her.

Ms. Brown POV

I was stunned by the slap. I didn't know how to react, but I quickly decided to be calm as I was still holding Rusty tightly in my arms. I took a deep breath before speaking,"Detention, five days." The words came out of my mouth easily. This is the usual time I would give students when they assaulted me.

Assaulted me...

Y/n left angrily and I turned my attention back to Rusty. "I'll call, Charlie, to pick you up" He nodded and gently wiped his face with sleeve. His attention was directed to something on my face. His hand reached up and gently touched my cheek where Y/n had slapped me. It stung So I pulled away.

"You know where you can clean your face. When you're done go wait in the office. He nodded and walked off. I quickly got up and called my husband. He would be here In thirty minutes to pick up Rusty. Good.
