Damon was finishing his homework at his desk, when he heard a loud rumble of thunder. Immediately thinking of Simone, he grabbed his phone to FaceTime her. He stared at her contact picture, while the phone continued to ring.

After the sixth ring, Simone answered the phone a little out of breath."Hi babe." Simone placed the phone on the counter and then removed her jacket. Noticing the kitchen in the background, Damon realized she was at the loft. "Baby you ok? You sound a little stressed."

Simone opened the fridge and grabbed the baked macaroni and cheese, barbecue chicken and corn bread. She walked over to the oven and turned it on. While it was preheating she returned to her phone and gave him a small smile. "The noise was too loud in the dorms. The library was too crowded. I came over here to finish my history paper without interruptions. I also needed to focus on finalizing the strategies for the team's upcoming tournament. What about you?"

Damon leaned back in his desk chair and watched Simone put the food in the oven. "The team was slacking today so Coach Marcus got on our asses and had us doing laps all over the field. My legs are still killing me. I got this annoying ass group project and no one can agree on a topic. I'm real close to telling them to figure it out their damn selves and I'll just submit mine solo. I was finishing up stats when I heard the thunder, I know how scared you get so I wanted to make sure you're good."

Simone rolled her eyes catching the playful teasing in his tone. "Boy bye, I'm not that scared of thunder. I just don't like it. Sometimes it sounds like a bomb and I don't understand the need for it to be that dramatic. It does look like a storm is coming tonight, so maybe I'll just stay here just in ca- AHHHHH!" Simone screamed when she heard a loud boom of thunder followed by lightning.

Damon tried to hold his laughter. "Yeah baby, you sound just fine." Simone narrowed her eyes at him and pouted. "Don't make fun of me...." Before she could say anything else, the lights started flickering. Simone look around nervously. Damon sat up in his seat immediately. She looked outside the window distracted by the increasing dark clouds. Hearing the sound of keys brought her attention back to the phone. "What are you doing?" Damon picked up his wallet and put it in his back pocket. "I'm coming over. Seriously, I know you hate thunderstorms and I think it's only gonna get worse. I'll be there in fifteen minutes." Simone smiled at him but looked worried. "Please be careful driving." Damon smiled back. "Don't worry, it hasn't even started raining yet. I love you. I'll see you soon." Simone closed her eyes briefly. "I love you too."

After ending the call, Simone checked on the food in the oven. Deciding to give it ten more minutes, she decided to change her clothes. Going into the bedroom, she grabbed a cute cropped sky blue tube top that showed off her smooth stomach with matching shorts. Coming back into the main room, thunder roared again with a few lightning strikes. Turning off the oven, she put the food on the counter to cool off slightly. She put her phone on the charger and placed her straight hair in a low ponytail. She grabbed two plates, utensils, cups and lemonade from the fridge. She washed her hands, dipped her plate, put it aside and made Damon's. She gave him extra chicken and macaroni and cheese because he could eat enough for two people. She was bringing the food to the table when a knock at the door startled her.

She walked over to the door look up into the peephole. She saw Damon's face staring at the lens "You gonna open the door or just stare." She heard him laugh. Huffing, she playfully rolled her eyes opening the door. "You're knocking on my door. I could just leave you out there. You could have also used your key."

Damon smirked at her as he walked inside and made is way over to the counter. "I guess I could have if I didn't have all this junk food in my hands. I got those red velvet cupcakes you love, cinnabons and potato chips." Simone trailed behind him slowly taking in his outfit. He looked good in his form fitting black t-shirt, grey sweats and black Jordans. After washing his hands, he turned around to see her leaning against the refrigerator staring back at him. His eyes roamed down her figure slowly, taking in her crop top, short shorts, and smooth skin. Reaching out to grab her one of her hands, he pulled her into him. Wrapping his arms around her, he pressed his face into her neck breathing in her dark rose scent. He started kissing her neck when she pulled back.
