Jae's POV

You know what is the funniest thing about falling in love? You never know when it's happening. One day you just wake up, like any other day, you go out, you step on dog shit and then BANG! You're done! Game over! Yep, just like that. Crappy, huh? I know...

It was just like that with me. I wasn't supposed to fall in love with my coworker, or for anyone else, to be honest. I was just done with all the love stuff. Uhg! Nope, not again! At least, that's what I thought...

But first, let me introduce myself so you can visualize the whole thing. My name is Kim Jae-Eun, first name Jae-Eun, last name Kim, I don't mind if you call me Jae-Eun Kim as the westerns do, but I am used to introducing myself in the korean way. Yes, I'm Korean, but no, this story does not happen in Korea. I was born there but my mom immigrated when I was seven, so I have lived here for the past twenty years. And by here I mean... Whatever, that's not important!

Anyways, I'm pretty normal and boring for a twenty-seven year old guy. I'm thin and tall, which makes my legs and arms look longer. My hair is pitch black and long, up to my chin. I have almond shaped eyes and pale skin, so you can easily spot all the bruises I get on a daily basis. I would say, I can be a little clumsy sometimes, or maybe the coffee table really loves kissing my knees...

To start with this horror story, I have to tell you that I was having a crappy day at work, or maybe a crappy week, to be honest. The weather was too hot, the air too stuffy, the clients too annoying... All the noise from the hairdryers we're driving me insane! All I wanted was to go home and sleep for twenty four hours straight.

"Okay Kim Jae-Eun, you can do it! Just two more hours and you can go home!" I mumbled to myself.

"Hiii Jae!!!" Said the high pitched voice of Mrs. Lars.

"Good evening, Mrs. Lars. What can I do for you today?"

"Oh darling, I just need you to do your magic trick on my face again." The happy woman sat on the chair and wiggled back to rest her neck on the backing, her feet hanging in the air. She kept chattering while I prepared her skin to receive the makeup on. "I have this tea party with my friends this afternoon and I don't want Diana looking at my wrinkles again. I must be stunning!!"

Mrs. Lars was a habitual client of Glam Aura, the beauty salon I work at. The typically wealthy widow, full of jewelry and a venomous tongue. I am her favorite makeup artist in the salon, and the more happy she is with my "magic trick", the bigger the tips. And I really had nothing to complain about. Even if I have to listen to gossip and misfortunes of people I have never met before for the next hour, I can't afford to lose a good client.

"Is it good like this?" I asked, giving the final touches to the eyelashes.

"Perfect as always, darling! How could I live without you?" She patted my shoulder like a granny.

"Thank you, Mrs. Lars." I replied with a smile.

But being me was not an easy task. And being as clumsy as I could be, when putting down the mascara I had just used, I slid my hand on a brush that was misplaced and the whole pot of brushes spread across the make-up table and on the floor. I closed my eyes as shame took over my face and Mrs. Lars roared with laughter.

"Oh dear! How can such talented hands be so clumsy?! Here's your pay, you're awesome as always! Thank you, sweetheart."

I opened my eyes, I was used to my slimy hands but I couldn't help but be embarrassed. I opened a big bright smile while receiving her payment and the fat tip. "It's always a pleasure to have you here, Mrs. Lars."
