Nyan's POV

"Work here?" Jae-Eun asked. He was so surprised he almost fell from his chair. "But we totally messed up things last time. No, I messed up. If it wasn't for Nyan... I don't get it, why do you want us to work here?"

"That's true, Ms. Fallon. Why would you want Jae here all the time?" I asked, hoping that my sarcasm would hit her in the face.

"Yes. I know things didn't happen the way we planned last time." She looked at me with a blank but serious stare, and all I wanted was to take Jae and leave that place as fast as possible. "But I think Mr. Win handled the situation very professionally, and even if you weren't in perfect conditions to show your work, Mr. Kim, I received great feedback from other people about you.  I'm sure you would be a great acquisition to KSE."

"But..." He started talking but I could see by his expression that he wasn't able to talk.

"We'll think about it." I said. Trying my best to keep my expression as blank as hers. "We already have a great job, you know?"

He looked at me with his eyes wide open. Panting and sweating like a pig. "Hm.. yeah, that's right."

"I see." Said the vicious lady with a warm smile. "Maybe I should show what the working plan and salary values are so that you can better ponder." She opened a briefcase and handed us a sheet with the name of the artists we would be working with. It didn't say anything to me, but Jae covered his mouth totally awed by the bunch of idols listed there. I could totally see the sparkles in his eyes. "On the next page you can check the amount of hours you can work and what's the annual wage you are getting here. Obviously, if you get to work with our top idols later, your bonus also increases."

"That's... a lot of money." I was really in awe of the number of zeros in there. How could it be that they wanted Jae to join the company so much? It was not possible for that to be the normal wage of the employees there.

Jae-Eun sank on his chair, his expression was a mix of awe and terror. I was pissed that they were pushing him like that. That was low! Look at him, he can't even close his mouth...

"Take your time to think," Said the witch. "We have a few days until the end of the month. Give me your answer by that time. If you agree, you start on the first working day next month."

"Right, we'll let you know." I put on my best smile, rose to my feet and reached my hand to her, implying that our conversation was over. She shook my hand and redirected her gaze to Jae who was already standing by my side.

"You can come yet if Mr. Win thinks the job at the salon looks better, Mr. Kim. We'll be glad to have you here with us full-time."

"Thank you, Ms. Follan." Said Jae-Eun, shaking her hand and doing a small bow.

I could have won an Oscar by all the acting I was doing there. Jae was still in shock. I had to push him along the hall to the elevator.

"Are you okay?" I asked him as we left the building. "I think your color is coming back now."

"I'm okay." He said, his voice was low and distant.

"Can I ask you something?"

He looked at me from behind his usual curtain of black hair. "Yep. Go ahead."

I had so many things I wanted to ask him, but this was the only one that I could actually ask at that moment. I could tell by the look on his face that he was spacing out. His body was there, but his mind was flying very far. He was probably overthinking about what just happened. We had a short but significant conversation with Ms. Fallon. I'm sure Jae wasn't expecting that at all. He was so startled I thought he would faint. "Are you taking the job?"
