CHAPTER 05
glare
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃

"What do you mean, 'Not a chance'? You need something quick? Get 3Racha to do it. That's literally what you said to me," Minho says to his older friend.

"I'm not asking Chris for help," you say with a scoff. You cross your arms and look away. "So, I agree with him. Not a chance."

"Aw, so cute! We are agreeing on something," Chan cooes, making you roll your eyes. "Fuck off," you mumble.

"But we need help!" Robin whines, looking at the three guys Minho is pointing at. "Can you guys do it? We really need it."

"Mhm, I'm only helping if Riley asks me," Chan says, turning his head to look at you. He smirks and crosses his arms. "Otherwise I'm not helping you guys out. I just need her to ask me, that's all."

Changbin and Han point at their friend with a nod. "Yeah, what he said. Ask us nicely, will ya?"

You roll your eyes at the three guys. "Forget it. This was stupid. We have to go, Robin and Minjoo. We are not welcomed here."

Chris laughs. "Ah, come on Babe. You really don't want my help? But what if we are the key for you to get your beloved tickets, eh?"

You shake your head. "No! Shut up, asshole. We can do it ourselves. I don't need you to help me."

"But I do!" Robin quickly says, turning around to face the guys. "Can you help us? What do we need to do for you all to say yes?"

Changbin smirks at her words, "Say the word."

"What word?" Minjoo asks with a frown. You shake your head. "Don't do it."

"That's right, you have to do it, Rye."

Robin smiles. "Can you do it Riles? For us? We really need the tickets! This is a one time opportunity! Come on... 5 Seconds of Summer in Seoul! We need to go there!" she says, her puppy eyes showing.

She looks at you, her hands close to her body and her eyes asking you for help. Our of the three, she's the biggest 5SOS fan. You love them too, you truly do, but Robin would do anything. Even beg these idiots for help.

You sigh, looking away from her. "Fine. You're lucky you're my best friend."

She smiles, "Yay! Thank you! You're the best, Riles! You truly are."

She runs to you and wraps her arms around you for a hug, making you sigh. "I know, I know. Keep telling me that, then."

You push her away and turn to the guys and look them in the eyes, then forcing a smile around your lips. Here goes nothing.

"Can you guys please help us out with the tickets?" you ask, a smile plastered around your face.

Chan widens his eyes, and Han gasps. That one sentence is enough for the guys to go weak in the knees and nod their heads without saying a word.

You smile. "Cool. Now we're off. Bye," you say as you want to grab Robin and Minjoo by their arms and walk away.

"No wait!" Robin shouts, pulling her hand away and running to face Minho.

He frowns. "What the fuck is up with you?"

"Please give me your number."

If it worked for you, why wouldn't it work for her, huh?

Minho scoffs and turns around. "Yeah, no. Not a chance, Choi."

Ouch.

She pouts and walks after you and Minjoo like a lost puppy. Her head is low, her arms dangling next to her body. Poor girl.

But that doesn't mean there's a slight smile around Minho's face, because before he turns around to his friends, you swear you saw a small smile around his lips. Maybe she does have a chance.

"I begged them for help. I swear, I've never gone lower than that," you groan.

Alaska laughs at your misery. "I'm glad it's you that's doing these embarrassing things, and not me. Say, why didn't you guys ask us to help out?" she asks, munching on one of the spring rolls you ordered with your noodles.

"Because," you say with a scoff, giving Robin a glare who's happily eating her ramen noodles with teriyaki sauce. "Ms. Choi here wanted Minho to ask if he knew someone with quick fingers. Guess what? It's Christopher and his friends that have quick fingers," you answer, groaning at the thought you begged that asshole for help.

"But we can help too!" Mya says. She wipes her mouth with a napkin and looks around. "Right?"

"No offense, but you're all a little slow," Minjoo says. She shrugs. "And we really need these tickets."

You nod. "Yeah, or Robin will cry for years."

"What?" The girl looks up as she munches on her food, no idea about what you guys are talking about. She's too caught up in her food that she doesn't pay attention to her surroundings.

"Nothing. Just eat your damn noodles."

She smiles and nods, then continuing her meal and moving her hands excitedly as she takes a spring roll. You roll your eyes at her and shake your head. She's not at all ashamed anymore that Minho rejected her like that now that's she's got her food. But you know that as soon as she gets to her room she might cry as she remembers what happened earlier that day.

"It's true, we are kinda slow with those things sometimes," Mari answers with a shrug. "So none taken."

"I still think we can help," Mya says with a pout. She takes a bite from her meal and looks at it with interest. She's having a hard time accepting that her friends didn't ask her and the others for help.

"Ah yeah, sure," Lanhua says with a laugh. "I don't even know how to buy tickets. It's beyond my knowledge," she says with a shrug. "But that's the reason I let others do it for me when I need it. I once bought tickets for a whole different show in Japan. Not that I didn't want to go, but the concert got way more expensive because of the trip I had to take."

"Mhm, fair," Renee mumbles. "It's easy, but I understand why Robin wanted to ask someone with really quick fingers. These days you really need to be quick, especially when it's a wanted show like 5SOS. Or something like Harry Styles. Tickets are sold so fast, it's crazy!"

"But Chris though?" you ask with a scoff. "He's never going to let this go. I will hear this the following weeks when I have tutoring from him."

"You gotta relax, babes," Jisoo says with a shrug. Her eyes meet yours and she lifts her eyebrows. "He might not be so bad as you think."

"You guys keep telling me that, but you're not going to change my opinion on him. He pisses me off and he's like that on purpose, I just know it. Why else would he let me say please while the others could have done it too? It's because he wants to piss me off, that's why. There's no other reason behind any of it. So, stop saying things like that, because I will never like him."

The other girls look at each other, shrugging at your outburst. To them, there's definitely something else going on. And it might even be more than just wanting to be friends, and rather Chris thinking you're somewhat cute. He just shows it in a different way, maybe.

And the girls' view on this whole situation might be the true meaning behind all this for the Australian guy.

Only that will probably never be revealed.
