Chapter 5: Grandpa...?

I turned to see my grandfather but a ghost and with...blue flames?

"B-but...you're dead" I saw tears forming in my eyes. He looked at me with a sad smile

"Yes, my child, I am."

But then someone had to ruin the mood( im lookin' at you sakuya)

"Really, Yorii? Must you be so dramatic? This is like when you first found me! Ahem, 'Do not be afraid, mY cHiLd, I am not here to harm you.'. Like really, who are you showing off for?"

"Oh I'm the dramatic one? You busted my ass when you found out I had a grandchild! You were all like, 'You've got some god damn explaining to do! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU HAD GRANDCHILDREN?'. So don't call me out on that!"

"Well I'm alive and you're not so take that!"

"ONLY BECAUSE OF MY INTERVENTION!"

"You may have trained me, but now... I'm stronger. TAKE THAT, BITCH!"

"DID YOU JUST CALL ME A BITCH?"

"WELL YOU ARE!"

My head wiped back and forth between the two. As a sweat droplet fell from my face.

"YOU'RE A BITCH!"

"EXCUSE ME?"

"YEAH YOU'RE A BITCH!"

"DON'T CALL ME A BITCH, OLD MAN!"

"DO I LOOK OLD TO YOU?"

"YES YOU'RE A GHOST SO YOU LOOK VERY OLD!"

"Um, can you two stop shouting?"

Sakuya turned to me. And smiled "Ah, my apologies, Sakura-sama, I did not mean to alarm you. I am sure that Yoriichi-san apologizes, too." she said eyeing ojiisan

"I'm sorry , Sakura," he said, floating over to me and giving me a hug. I hugged him back, luckily Tanjiro was with the girl we just saved family because this was some scary stuff.

"How have you been my dear?" Yoriichi asked, looking down at me. "The past few years? I've been alright."

"What do you mean 'past few years'?"

"The man you we all are trying to kill he killed mom and Amane"

"Amane?"

"Your grandson"

"..." he didn't say anything, but I could see that he wanted to kill the demon king right then and there.

"Yori, I think we should go, Tanjiro might be worried" Sakuya says, grabbing my haori and pulling me away from my grandfather and walking away.

"I'll be watching, my granddaughter, my student"

"Yeah, yeah whatever" she waved him off, still walking away.

Soon we reached the house the girl lived, her father thanking Tanjiro.

"O-oh I didn't do it alone, these two helped me"the father turned towards us, thank the hell out of us.

We stayed for a bit before, leaving to go on out next mission.

As we walked, I heard my raven caw while he flew over "head to Tokyo! Demon activity has been reported there! Head to Tokyo! Caw! caw!" He said, flying over me, Sakuya and Tanjiro. Their birds came as well, and said the exact same thing.

"Wow, same mission again? How convenient" Sakuya giggled, her bird landing in her shoulder letting her pet it.

Tanjiro smiled at both of us, laughing with her. We walked on, talking and laughing as we made our way to Tokyo.
