it'll be fun!

the moon illuminated the road along the mountain. a single car drove up, sputtering slightly. music played from the radio and the bass could be heard by the animals nearby.

the car drove higher and higher until the car was nearly out of gas. an old stone tower that might have once been part of a castle was on top of the mountain.

the car parked and 2 people got out. a girl retrieved a flashlight from the side door and flashed it around. "you sure this is the place?" the other person walked around the car. "positive." they said.

the two walked to the remains of the tower. "it's... cozy!" the girl managed, but she wasn't convincing. "you really are going to live here?"

"yeah. i mean, what other choice do i have?" can't go home." they shrugged. the girl tossed a bag on the floor. "well, stay safe kaz!" she began to walk away.

kaz called out to her, "wait!" they ran over to the car. kaz wrapped their arms around the girl. "thanks nat, you're the best friend anyone could ever ask for."

they released and nat got into the car. she began to back away in reverse but stopped and rolled down her window. "text me kaz!! you better!" they smiled. "i will." and held up their phone. they watched until they couldn't see the headlights anymore.

kaz turned towards the old tower. at least it's safe. they thought. they walked into the tower and laid out their belongings. "it's okay," they said out loud. "it'll be fun!"
