First thing, she remembered, was blast of white light and then darkness.

She soon left hitting ground. The temperature felt... warm... no. It was hot. She was under a bright sun over her head and smell of salty ocean hit her nose. She tried to pull up, but only able to do so much, other than lay down with closed eyes, afraid or unable to open them. She could feel something loose under her hands, she wasn't able to grasp fully, before she lost her consciousness.

And now, she felt like she was in a bed. It now felt cooler, than where she originally came from. Wait... where did she come from?

Anyway... she'd deal with it later.

The girl started to move, with small unhappy noises, as the room came to life.

"She's waking up!"

"Already?"

"Calm down, miss. She'd might be confused and disoriented at first. Let me do the talking."

Soon enough, she opened her eyes, only to be blinded by lights in the room. Another whine left her as a soft hand was placed on top of her chest, lightly pushing her to lay back down.

"Shh, it's okay, sweetheart. You're in safe hands" A soothing male voice came from over her head.

The girl lifted her head up to meet the man's face.

He was a middle-aged, shaved and he had brown, tucked back hair. A white coat was buttoned up nearly fully, only revealing top of the man's blue shirt.

"Ah, good. Hello, dear. Slow down, sit slowly..." The man spoke gently, helping young child to sit up. "Good, that's good... How do you feel?"

"Tired... and my head hurts... and I feel hot..." The girl said slowly, not looking up. "Where am I? Who are you?"

"Well, young lady, I'm Doctor Tyrone and you're in Glass Shards Beach's hospital. You were found on the shore by Mrs. Pines and her son over here." The doctor explained, before turning to another side of the room, as the girl followed him with her eyes.

The room wasn't too big, but big enough to fit about five people. And those five people were doctor Tyrone, a woman in white coat, the girl assumed was a nurse, the girl herself, a woman in red dress and little boy, the last two were in further part of the room. The boy was doing some coloring, but looked up to give girl a smile and a wave. His mother, Mrs. Pines, the girl thought, only smiled at her, looking with relief.

The girl looked over at the doctor again, before nodding. Something felt weird to her, but she couldn't put a hand on it. The mother and son pair... they seemed to be familiar to her, but she couldn't figure out why, through it did help her feel more at peace in here. And the name... Pines... it did feel comfortable and nice... maybe they were friends? Related? No, it wouldn't be possible, if the doctor referred to her as just Mrs. Pines and not her 'Aunt' or if the woman didn't react any other than relieved smile.

But her family name through... family... why was a stranger the one to find her on beach? Where was her family?

The girl looked up distracted, worry and fear written over her face, as she lightly grabbed on the doctor's coat. "I'm sorry, doc... but is my family here? I wanna see them... scared..."

The doctor could only give the girl a sympathetic smile. "Well... not yet, but we're hoping you can give us some points to help us find them... they must be very worried about you, young lady."

It wasn't the answer she wanted, but... it was still better than nothing.

"Alright..." She nodded. "I'll do whatever I can" Then, a light smile came across her face.

"Good." The doctor said, smiling back, when he turned to the door. "You'll be meeting officer in a few hours, they'll help us find your parents. But first... can you tell me your name?"

The girl looked at the man, before thinking over it, like if she was trying to remember. The doctor frowned at her face.

"What's wrong, sweetheart? Did you hurt your head too badly? You can't remember?"

"No!" The girl shook her head, when a smile came on her face. "Mabel!"

"Mabel?" The man asked, raising eyebrow. "Is that your name?"

"Mhm!" The girl, Mabel, nodded, still smiling brightly. "Yep! It's Mabel..! Uh... hm..." her smile then fell, as she looked down. "I... don't... know..."

"I see..." The doctor responded, writing down something in a notepad. Then, he smiled, sitting next to the girl, his hand on her back. "Well, Mabel... it seems like you might have a slight amnesia, but it's going to be alright. We'll find your family and then I'm sure you'll be able to remember everything."

With that, the doctor left the room.

Amnesia..? Mabel thought to herself. I lost my memory..? The young girl grabbed on her hair, starting to feel tears fall down her eyes. I can't remember! How am I supposed find my family, if I don't have any memories!?

"Hey... Mabel, right?" A soft voice said from over her head.

Mabel turned her head up to see Mrs. Pines looking at her with a soft smile, her son was next to the bed, his head laying on his folded arms.

"Yeah..." Mabel nodded, wiping away a tear. "It's me... Mrs. Pines, right?"

"Please, Darlin', call me Caryn, and this is Sharman, Sharmie for short." The woman responded, sitting down. "I know, it might feel scary to have no memories of who you are and where you're from... but I can assure ya, you've got nothing to fear."

Mabel watched the woman and the boy for a bit, like if she was trying to put them somewhere in her memory. It was like if she knew both of these people and she knew it. The accent, manner of speaking... maybe even something in Sharmie's face felt like home.

It felt... nice... despite the fact that she, supposedly, just met this woman, she felt safe with her, before making am attempt to sit up and hug her, which Caryn responded by wrapping arms around the girl and strocking her hair gently.

"Thank you, Caryn..." Mabel whispered.

"You're welcome, my dear..." Caryn replied simply. "You're welcome."
