Time has passed and the summer was coming to a close. It was an early morning, through Shermie decided to tag Mabel out earlier than usual, as their parents had something to do in the house.

But first thing was to get his older sister to get out of bed...

But to his own surprise, she already awake, when he tried to sneak up in her room. The young girl was trying on one of her new outfits, Caryn helped her to put together earlier. Through made out of simple shirt, belt and skirt, it looked great on the older sibling, as she twirled around, holding onto the bottom of her outfit, giggling lightly.

"Hey, May-May!" Shermie said, deciding to finally made his presence known to his sister.

The girl looked up and smiled. "Good morning, Shermie!"

The boy then ran up to Mabel, wrapping his arms around her shoulders, nearly making both of them fall.

"Happy birthday, May-May!" He said, nuzzling towards her cheek, that made her giggle again.

"Haha!" The girl laughed, hugging her brother back in return. "Thank you, Sherman... but why are you up already? It's still pretty early. Where are your parents?"

The plan came back into the boy's head, as he gently pulled away, starting to rock on his feet.

"Oh... that" He smiled. "I wanted to get up as early as I could, so we could go..." He then pulled his sister to the window. "There!"

Mabel looked out and gasped to see where Sherman was showing.

A few days ago, a fair started to make itself known nearby the beach. And it seemed like it, finally, was completed and ready for the grand opening. And Shermie wanted to go there with her!?

"Shermie..." The girl looked down surprised. "But... we don't have much money to go on the rides... I spent my pocket money on my crafts..."

"Or so you think..." The boy winked, pulling Mabel from her room. "Don't ya worry, sis! I have it covered!"

"But... what about Caryn and Filbrick-?" Mabel asked, noticing the woman in kitchen.

"Oh, you go and have fun, kids!" Caryn said with smile. "I've got some things to do first and Filbrick... well..." The mother shook her head fondly. "He's not the biggest fan of carnivals or such. You two go. We'll pick you later!"

"Um... okay!" Mabel smiled back, through more shyly.

Still impatient, Shermie again pulled her towards the door. "Come on, May-May! If we leave now, we can be the first ones on the ferris wheel!"

"Alright, alright! I'm coming!" Mabel giggled.

The two siblings got to the fair quick enough. Through the event wasn't so big the moment with about six or seven rides, three attractions, food court and about sidelights game stands... both, Sherman and Mabel were able to have a blast with each other.

Eventually, they were sitting on a bench, sharing some cotton candy, as Mabel sighed.

"Well... waddya say, Mabel?" The boy asked. "How do ya like the day so far?"

Mabel looked at the younger child, before smiling to him. "Oh, I'm having fun, Shermie!" She then turned away and looked around, watching people around them, hoping they were enjoying that day just as much as she and her brother did. "Thank you for taking me here..."

Through something still didn't sir well with Sherman. Sure, Mabel said she was happy, but it didn't look much like it. When Mabel was happy for real, she would be sitting relaxed, looking up into the sky with dreamy look, eyes filled of hopes and joy for everything she was yet to see.

But right now, she was sitting far more still, her feet entwined together with her hands on her knees. Her eyes showed sorrow, as she watched into the distance. It was like she was still searching for something with that wishful look... the look she did every time she was longing in the crowd. Every time, like she was hoping... longing that somebody would appear.

And he knew who it was...

"You're worried about your family?"

Mabel sighed and nodded. "Yeah..." She then turned to Shermie. "I don't mean to sound ungrateful for all the things you, Caryn and Filbrick are doing for me..." She sighed again. "But I can't stop thinking of them..."

Shermie nodded. Despite the fact she was seemingly happy with the newfound peace at the Pines house... He couldn't blame her for missing her family. They loved her (if he believed what she told him of them) and she loved them back. He would want Mom and Pa to find him too, if he was lost like Mabel. And...

D...

Recently, they discovered Mabel might be a twin. It was the day they learned that day was her birthday. Just like the date and the presumed turning 13 felt right to her, so did the feeling that she wasn't the only one this day was special for.

"I love you, Shermie... both you and your parents... it's just..." Mabel tugged the bottom bottom her skirt, sighing. "I want my found family to meet my birth family..."

Mabel let out a small hiccup, indicating she was about to cry. Shermie looked at her with sorrowful look, wrapping his arms around her. The girl looked down at the boy, before a light smile crossed her face.

"Ah, sorry..." Mabel wiped away her tears. "Sorry, I'm not making it easy for you."

"It's already, May-May..." Shermie smiled, looking into her eyes. "It's your birthday, so you're the one to decide what you're doing during it. It's alright if you want to cry, I won't judge."

Shermie held onto Mabel for next few minutes, before she felt like she was going to be okay and pulled away from him.

"Hah..." Mabel chuckled lightly, nodding, as she wiped away her tears. "Thanks, Shermie..."

"Hey, what else are siblings for?" Shermie smiled back. "Do you wanna go home?"

"No... we are almost out of cotton candy through..."

"Well... what are we still doing, laying around then?" Shermie chuckled, nearing against Mabel's shoulder. "Let's go. Let's get outta here..."

He stood up and reached for her hand. Mabel smiled, nodding, as she took his, hand.

"Sure..." She stood up and they started to walk down the boarded paths of the fair. "Sounds like a plan..."
