CHAPTER 7 : PRIVATE LIVES??

"I need to talk to him about Arjun. Before all of this, I need to know," Riddhima thought to herself while walking down the stairs. "Riddhima!" someone called out her name. She turned around to find Vansh calling out to her. "We need to talk. I think I should come back to the office," he said while buttoning up his cuff links. "I understand that you are eager to come back to the company, but I think you should rest up. You just came from such a harsh environment. Relax a bit before you come back to the daily grind," she answered him while sitting down at the dining table. "You are not home the entire day, and Reyansh, God knows what that fellow is doing. I think the daily grind that you are referring to might be my normal." he said while taking a sip of his coffee.

"Fine, you can come, but you have to take a step back before you jump in and start acting all CEO like, you have the acknowledge the fact that you were gone, and there were changes" she tried explaining.

"Yeah I understand that, since you will anyway keep me on leash for a while how about we forget about the company just for today, and go on a date something like that, we didn't properly spend time each other after I came back, we need to talk alot!!! and also you said you had something to tell me, we can do all that at a date...." Vansh said coming closer to Riddhima and hugging her from behind. "That seems like a good idea!" Riddhima exclaimed but something about Riddhima's answer felt off to Vansh, like as if she was not actually happy, but just acting? He pushed these thoughts away and told Riddhima to get dressed up for their day out.

While Riddhima was in the bath, Vansh checked up on this news about the company, when he came across various news articles which dragged Riddhima through mud for being the CEO, her character questioned, her ability questioned, his brother also questioned, Vansh knew he was going to have a field day with alot of people when he came back to the office, it was the calm before the storm.

"Let's go??" Riddhima asked Vansh.

Vansh was back? This was a moment of celebration but I was washed with sadness, knowing that me and Riddhima are never going to happen, that girl's heart beat for Vansh, and now he is back, she is not going to take a look at me. *knock* "Come in!!"

"Sir I tried stopping her but she won't..." my assistant was cut off by Naina, "What are you doing here??" I questioned her. "Vansh is alive??" Naina exclaimed while pushing my assistant, i signalled her to leave the room. "Yeah! He is and he is very much happy being back with Riddhima" I made an emphasis on her name. "Bhai!! You like Riddhima and I like Vansh! She doesn't know him as well as we both do" Naina said cunningly taking a seat. Naina was my sister, but when our parents divorced, Naina grew up with my mom and I grew up with dad, both of us were still close, but no one except a few people knew that we were siblings. 

"What are you suggesting?? You had a good chance to marry him, but you had to go and cheat on him, and I respect Riddhima so much that I will let her go, don't expect me to be a bitch like you are!" I hated the fact she cheated on my friend, my best friend, she made me choose between my family and my friend who both things which were important to me. In the end blood is thicker and I had to choose Naina and my family over Vansh, which along with the instigation from my father made him cut his ties against me, which I don't blame him for. 

"Oh Bhai! Please don't act like a saint, you hit on Riddhima as soon as you found out that Vansh was dead by making her come here in the name of work, we both know that you made Reyansh know about the pitching, for fuck's sake, you conducted the entire pitching just to invest in Riddhima, so please don't act like you actually care for such bullshit! We both know you were going to propose to her" her words stinged me, not because they were lies, but that was the truth and I couldn't help but think about it.

Riddhima was not the same person I loved one and half year ago, she had changed, she was different, I could feel it, I could feel her trying to be the same person, but she failed miserably there was something bothering her, bothering her to the point that the time we are spending now seemed like a punishment for her. "Riddhima, jaan , is something bothering you", I asked after she sat on the bed after a long and fun day atleast was fun for me. "You were engaged before you met me?" She dived right into it without wasting any time. "I see you met Naina?" I knew no one other than her could possibly say about this to her. "You know her really well don't you?" she said while rolling her eyes. "Are you jealous? Angry? I am not able to understand, we both have a past before we met each other, I respect yours and you can't respect mine?" I asked.

"Except you respect it because I told you, not because some third person told you as if it's something wrong, I know she cheated on you, but I deserve to know, you know my past, every bit of it, I don't!! It felt like I didn't know you at all Vansh, which was more gut wrenching, because I loved you?!" she said getting away from me, as her hand slipped from my mine, it felt like a punch in my stomach.

"I am sorry, that was the only thing I hid from me, because she is that unnecessary that I didn't feel like she even deserves to be mentioned, but that's all..." I said.

That was all he hid from me? He lied AGAIN...

I knew it was going to be a long road for me, to confront Vansh again and again, after this conversation we just had, I needed a break before the iceberg of things I needed to confront.
