'It's 11:25, I'll get changed for work and sit at the park for a bit, until 12 at least, then I'll start walking to work.' She takes deep breaths to further calm herself and slips sweats and a hoodie over her clothes. By the time she stuffed her wallet, keys and other essentials into her purse and slipped on her shoes she was less shaky and able to think more clearly.
"Let's get the day over with." She mutters to herself.
As soon as she steps out she feels a sense of relief. It was very welcomed and further relaxed her agitated mind. 'Just needed a change of scenery.' She thinks as she begins the trek to the school playground 3 blocks away from her apartment. The public playground, which hardly deserved to be called that, with the way it's practically desecrated beyond recognition. The glass from empty beer and booze bottles, wire, and used needles is definitely child friendly.
Note the sarcasm.
Before she rounds the corner to the school she can hear the kids happily screaming and laughing. As she rounds the corner she spots the cop cars lining the street. Even if they can't protect everyone they always protect the youth. As she rounds the corner to get into the playground she stops in her tracks. 'The fuck!' She thinks.
Just staring at the yellow police tape and a line of dead body bags, 12 or 15. The police are helping civilians into ambulances, and keeping people restrained on the floor. They looked terrified but also exuberant as they thrashed around on the floor. Both police officers and the people under psychosis were bloody and bruised as they fought because of masks. 'Wait, masks?' It's at that moment that she finally notices everyone wearing a form of safety mask.
The screams and laughing were from the people on the floor. "Oh dear, what could have happened?" An old lady beside Scarlet asked. "Seems like a villain spreading his quirk in the park, it makes people go into psychosis apparently, making them attack people." A man said from behind her. "How, how do you know all of this?" The old woman asked. "My brother got infected and killed our mom, and then himself." He replied, As Scarlet looked at him more she noticed he looked emotionally drained. "Oh you poor dear," and the woman goes on to console the poor man as Scarlet ignores him.
"This is what the world is." She mutters to herself as she looks out at the chaos. Mothers and fathers pulling children away from the chaos, police officers trying to evacuate unaffected civilians and putting masks on the diseased. She then noticed a gas floating around in the center of the park, a dark purple.
A hero was there sucking in the air through her fingers and seemingly exhaling it through their mouth. 'I'ma just visit Carlo' She thinks to herself as she starts the 5-minute walk to Carletto's shoddy apartment.
A four eyed demon stripper and an unwanted witch stripper. 'Talk about an unlikely friendship.' She thinks with a small smile. Once she was down the street from his apartment she decided she'd better warn him of her oncoming presence. Pulling out her phone and checking the on-way street in both directions she pulls up his contact.
"Hello?" Carlo answers the call almost immediately.
"I'm outside heffer open up." She responds back. She hears immediate movement. "First off, fuck you, second, right now?" He asks. She's standing outside of his apartment now, just looking up at the boring red brick building for a minute. "Fuck you to and what's your floor and door number, heffer." She replies, waiting for his response. She ends up not waiting long as she sees him walking across the lobby to her in nothing but booty shorts to her.
