Six

Emery Rivera

I was scrambling to put on my shoes when I heard Harry knocking on my door. Luna was sitting in her stroller, fighting to stay awake. It was 6 AM, and I would honestly rather be asleep at this hour too.

"One second!" I called out, shoving my foot into my vans before hobbling off towards the door. "Hey, good morning." I opened the door for Harry, who was sporting sweatpants and a black hoodie. I stepped back to let him enter the apartment.

"You ready to go?" His eyes scanned up and down my body. "Is that all the luggage you're bringing?" He pointed to the one large suitcase and the small carry-on bag that held Luna's things.

"We'll only be gone for two weeks, right?" I didn't have a lot of clothes to begin with, and I hated traveling with multiple bags. When I usually traveled alone, I never carried more than a checked suitcase and a carry-on. Now, with Luna, it was even more challenging.

"Well, we can always buy more clothes there if you need," he shrugged. "It's not like you'll be wearing much anyways." He muttered as he walked towards the suitcases.

My eyes widened at his words. "Excuse me?" I scoffed slightly.

"What?" He turned around in confusion. "It's incredibly hot and humid in the Philippines, I promise you'll be wearing minimal amounts of clothing, sunshine." He smirked, grabbing the two bags. He knew exactly what he was doing. "Let's get going, I don't want us to be late."

I watched him walk out of the apartment. Double-checking that I had everything we needed in my purse, I pushed Luna's stroller out and locked the door behind us. Harry held the elevator door open, tapping his foot impatiently.

Harry definitely didn't like being late for anything. With his long strides, it was hard for me to keep up. Harry walked as if he were always on a tight schedule. We're going on vacation and he's moving as if we're about to meet the President, does this dude ever relax?

"I've already bought a car seat for Luna. That will be ready for us at the airport once we arrive in the Philippines. I'll have it shipped here afterwards, and you can keep it." Harry watched as I buckled Luna into the cheap car seat that I had laying around as a backup car seat.

"Thanks, Harry," I said, grateful that he had taken care of that detail. I couldn't believe I had forgotten to bring a car seat for Luna. It was such an important item, and I didn't know how it had slipped my mind.

"Alright, so do you want to sort through some details again? Just to make sure we have it all down?" Harry asked.

I let out a groan, my head hitting the head rest.

"Harry, it's 6 AM. We have a 18-hour flight ahead of us. Can we please talk it through on the plane? I just want to sleep," I mumbled, my voice heavy with exhaustion.

I shouldn't have been so surprised when we were shown our seats on the plane. Or should I say, our private cabin. I had never flown first class before, let alone on an international flight. We had our own little room to ourselves. The chairs could be reclined completely flat to form a bed. There was a small flat-screen TV mounted on the wall, and a refrigerated compartment in the table was already stocked with drinks.

"Sorry, I tried to get you a cabin for yourself, but they were fully booked by the time I bought the tickets," Harry explained, buckling himself into the chair beside me. I shook my head, dismissing his apology.

"Don't apologize... I fully expected to be sitting in economy," I chuckled, feeling a mixture of gratitude and disbelief. "Thank you."

"No problem." He nodded. "You'll never be flying economy if it's with me."
