Cassie couldn't believe what she was seeing. As she looked down the hallway at school, she saw [name] with his arms wrapped around another girl. A girl that wasn't Cassie.
It's not like they were together. Not anymore. [name] had broken up with her when he found out about her cheating on him with Nate. She understood why he broke up with her but she thought they would eventually get back together. She wasn't seeing Nate anymore and had been trying everything to get [name] to forgive her and take her back.
It hadn't been going that well but she didn't know he had started seeing someone else. It really hurt.
With a deep breath, she walked over to the two, trying to keep the tear from her eyes. "[name]... what are you doing?" Was all she could mutter out.
The girl, Sarah, and [name] both looked at her with raised eyebrows. "What do you want, Cassie?" He asked bluntly, his arms still wrapped around Sarah.
Cassie looked between the two. "I want to know what you're doing. Why - Why are your arms around her?" She couldn't keep the disgust off her face as she looked at Sarah.
Sarah scoffed. "Maybe because we're dating."
And there were the words that broke Cassie's heart. She knew that what they were going to say but she had hoped they wouldn't. "[name]?" She looked at him, begging him with her eyes that it wasn't true.
He sighed. Even though she had hurt him he still hated seeing her upset, especially because he was the cause. He couldn't let her make him feel bad anymore, not after what she had done to him.
"It's true, Cassie. Me and Sarah are dating."
"But I thought... I thought..."
"You thought what?" Sarah raised her eyebrows. "That you still had a chance with him after you spread your legs for Nate Jacobs?" The whole school knew what had happened.
"Sarah." [name] said with a hard voice.
"No. She deserves to hear this." Sarah said and crossed her arms. "He deserves to be happy and be with someone who won't hurt him and guess what? That someone isn't you." She sneered.
Cassie couldn't help the tears that fell from her eyes as she looked at her ex boyfriend. A month ago he wouldn't let anyone talk to her that way. Now he just stood and watched.
"Please, I'm sorry. You know how sorry I am." She pleaded. "Just - Just give me another chance. I won't screw up again."
Sarah scoffed in anger and looked at [name], wondering what he was going to do.
"I loved you, Cass. I really did... but not anymore." He spoke the truth. His feelings for her weren't there anymore and she needed to know that.
It felt like a knife had been pierced through her heart as she gasped. She turned away from him and speed walked away, needing to get as far away from him as possible so she could break down.
[name] watched her go, feeling guilty but it was the right thing to do. She needed to know there was no chance of them getting back together and now she needed to move on.
