{Zane POV}

It's half an hour's drive to my place from the city. it's been only a month since I moved in here. But I am already in love with this place. The first 2-3 days at a new place is the hardest. It takes time to learn what is where. At times, I hit on the sofa and hurt my leg. I have even fall down once. But now I am familiar with each corner of the house. I like the warmness here, different from the city. There are only 2-3 houses in the neighbourhood. A perfect place to lead a calm and quiet life. I have got this little balcony which is my favourite. It's a nice view from there on rainy days. That's what the house broker told me. He also told about the faraway mountain view.

Coming home I crashed directly into my bed

Coming home I crashed directly into my bed. And the only thing I could think was 'Maeve'. I could feel her pain. All night I kept thinking about her.

The next day the door bell woke me up at 7 in the morning. When I opened the door, someone just jumped in and hugged me tight.

"Maeve is that you?"

"Zane everything is perfect again. You know what a great night it was yesterday. He bought me flowers and desserts and everything... everything was like always. He was like always." Maeve's excitement was evident in her voice.

"I am so happy for you. Did you ask him about the messages you saw?"

"No I didn't. I mean, why should I. I think I exaggerated the whole thing. It was his work pressure that he couldn't give me enough time. But I was so stupid to connect it to some spam texts. Yesterday he told me Zane, that he loves me. You know that was the only thing I wanted to hear from him."

"Ok I'm glad you are happy again. Come in Maeve."

"I'm sorry Zane. I have to reach my work place at 8. But if you are free in the evening I have a plan for us. Let's go to the beach."

"What? I think you should be asking this to Aman. You guys need to spend more time together and not us."

"I know but he is busy tonight. Tell me are you free or not."

"How beautiful is this? It's been a long time since I saw a sunset

"How beautiful is this? It's been a long time since I saw a sunset." Maeve was literally playing in the water like a child. I could feel the excitement in her.

"Ooh really?"

"Yes I'll tell you what it looks like. The sun have painted the sky all orange-red. The golden hour, most beautiful part of the day. The golden hues of the setting sun is reflecting on the water waves too. Soon the sea will embrace the setting sun. How beautiful it will be. "

"I regret that I'm missing this view. But I can picture the whole thing through your words."

"Should I take you into the water?"

"Yes please" We walked into the sea. We moved against the waves holding each other's hands. "You know this is my first time in the sea. Thank you so much." The sound of the waves and Maeve's laughter felt more like music. I turned towards her and held both her hands. The first thought in my mind was to hold her close and kiss her. But wait...what kind of a thought is that? I looked away. A face to face moment with her won't do good. But I could sense Maeve still looking at me.

We were all wet when they got out of the sea and it was already night.

"Actually I planned a dinner after this. But all my clothes are wet. So I'll drop you and go home. What do you say Zane?"

To be honest, I didn't wanted to go. It was nice to spent time with her. I felt like I knew her for many years even if it was only few days since we met. "Yes I agree"

It was slightly raining when we were going to my home. Unusually I was feeling nervous.

"So Zane, you don't have many friends, do you?"

"I don't have any friends, to be honest. I never synced with the people around me."

"You must have felt so lonely. I had a lot of friends during my college days. But after college, lost all of them. And I'm not that close with my colleagues too. Life without friends really sucks. When you realise that you have no one to talk to. But I'm glad that I found you. I have someone to talk to."

"Even I am happy to have you. It's the first time someone is happy for me being around. "

"Really, I find a good company in you."

Soon we reached home. Whole night I could think of nothing but her. I couldn't figure out what happened to me so suddenly. Couldn't stop thinking of her laughter, the way she held my hand and walked towards the sea. It was all her I could think of.
