{Zane POV}

"It's a small house. Hope you like it."

"You have a lovely house"

"You are being too polite. But you have to see the view from the balcony. The balcony..."

"Yes I know that It's a nice view from the balcony, especially on rainy days. That's what the house broker told you right."

"Of course you know. Seems like I have told you all my secrets. Then let me show you."

"Zane, some other time please."

Of course, she wasn't in the mood to enjoy the scene. I was just being thoughtless. But I had no idea how to comfort her. "Ok...anyways I'll get something for you to eat"

"No, I'm not hungry."

"No, you cannot say that. It's the first time you are coming to my home. Actually, it's the first time I am having a guest in my home. So I have to feed my guest with the best meal no matter what right."

"Zane I'm really sorry, but I want to get some sleep. I hope you understand."

"Ok sure, if you need some rest you can use my room. We only have a single room here. I'll use the couch."

"Ooh no, I can take the couch"

"Don't worry about me. You take enough rest."

"No but..."

"I insist Maeve."

"Ok but Zane, why were in front of my house today?"

"Oh that, I came to give this back to you."

"My watch!"

"When I reached here only I realised I have your watch. And I know how important is this watch to you. So I thought of returning it to."

"Thank you so much. Anyways I'm...I'm glad you were there. Otherwise I would have just collapsed in the road."

"Hey, now you are here and you are safe. So stop worrying and go to bed.

"Ok goodnight"

I could hear her sobbing the whole night. I have known Maeve only for a couple of days. But her pain made me downhearted too. It may hurt a lot to be betrayed by the person you love the most. I hope she moves on soon and has a better and happier life.

I woke up early the next morning and decided to make breakfast for her. I didn't even know what was her favourite. So I decided to make what I was best at.

"Maeve, it's morning already. Please get up". I waited for 10 minutes outside the room. But she wouldn't open the door. "Maeve, are you awake? Can you open the door?" I was frightened a little. So I started to knock on the door calling out her name aloud. But no response. I tried to break in. Finally, I had to break the door to get in."

I searched for Maeve in the bed. She wasn't there. I soon found her lying in one corner of the room. She wasn't moving. I checked her and blood was still draining from the cut on her hand. She was unconscious. I tried to wake her up. "Maeve what did you do? Maeve just wake up. Maeve, Maeve...Maeve please wake up." Is she dead? Why Isn't she responding? I had no clue what to do. I searched for a cloth to cover her wound. I had to stop the bleeding. The floor was filled with her blood. I found a piece of cloth and tied it to her hand. "Maeve please wake up. I don't want you to die like this. Please wake up. Maeve...Maeve...please"
