They flew for the whole day, only stopping for map checks, but the long flight was affecting them all in some cases.

Flora was perfectly fine being a bird that was built for long distance flying. She was humming to herself as she flew way ahead of the rest, only looking back to make sure they were still behind her.

Apex was also fine, but slowly showing some form of tiredness but he could make the distance. And was always looking at the map.

Surge was looking very tired, but his determination was propelling him forward.

Sahara was as strong as Apex, even though only being nine, but her jewellery was dragging her down a lot.

As for herself, she was exhausted, but she kept up with Apex through pure will power. And was lost in thought which helped with taking her mind off the pain of flying.

It was around late evening when they finally stop flying. Mainly because Surge was almost falling out of the sky. They landed near a small creek and each set to their own tasks. Surge fished in the creek, Sahara set up a fire, Flora watched them from up in a tree, and Apex and herself studied the map for more exact details about how to get to the Shard. Until Apex spotted something comparing an the old map to the new map.

"That mountain there" said Apex pointing at the place marked on the old map "is where the Skywing palace is"

"Is it?" asked Flora intrigued.

"I guess it wasn't in your time period, but it is now".

"How close to it is it?" asked Surge looking over Apex's shoulder.

"I'd say that they have already found it by now" said Apex with a huff "because as far as I know the place takes up the caves all through the mountain".

"But Flora said that it hasn't been moved" she replied looking in her pack for a map

"True".

"So maybe they missed it? Or found it and didn't think much of it".

"one of those two most likely"

"So, where in the palace is it?"

"it says on the map that its at the base of the mountain"

"the entrance is at the base, the shard is located at the end of a tunnel that go's up into the mountain" said Flora from her perch

"So, we go there tomorrow, find the entrance and follow the tunnel" said Wolfeye walking over to the fire "and see if they found the tunnel".

"Sounds fun" said Surge coming over with some fish.

"Sound dangerous" replied Sahara catching the fish Surge passed to her.

"And that's why it's fun" said Surge tossing a fish into his mouth

"you're crazy" replied Sahara setting her fish on fire to cook it "we could all be arrested".

"Well, that will probably happen later, but for now we can't afford to" said Wolfeye grabbing a fish from Surge "so we'll fight our way out if we have to"

"You make it sound so easy" muttered Sahara eating her fish.

"What? fighting?" asked Wolfeye sitting down opposite of Sahara.

"Yeah that" said Sahara throwing away the bones of her fish "I haven't even been taught how to fight with my claws".

"I can teach you now" said Apex finishing his fish.

"sure" said Sahara getting up and walked with Apex over to a flat clear area where Apex started teaching her.

With Sahara gone, Surge sat down beside Wolfeye and passed her another fish before starting to eat his own "you sure you're ready for tomorrow? And what's most likely to come".
