Part 8: Try Again

The next day, Zihao was waiting for Keita at their usual spot after school when Kania approached him with a big smile on her face. "Hey, Zihao! I was hoping to catch you alone," she said, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger. Zihao tensed up, knowing what was coming. "I know you said you weren't interested, but maybe you just need to get to know me better," Kania continued, leaning in a little closer.

"Sorry, Kania, I've got to get going" Zihao quickly said as he saw Keita leave the classroom.

Kania pouted and leaned in closer to Zihao. "Come on, just a little longer," she whispered, running a hand down his arm. "I promise it'll be worth it." Zihao gently pulled away, feeling uncomfortable with the situation. "I really can't, Kania. I have to go meet Keita," he said, making his way towards the door. Kania's eyes followed him as he left the classroom, a small frown on her face.

Keita felt a pang of jealousy as he watched Kania talk to Zihao, but he tried to brush it off and put on a smile as he approached them. "Hey, Zihao, you ready to go?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Zihao turned to him with a smile. "Yeah, let's go," he said, taking Keita's hand.

As they walked away, Keita couldn't help but look back and see Kania still watching them. He felt a sense of relief that Zihao had chosen him, but he also couldn't shake off the feeling of insecurity.

Once they were out of earshot, Keita turned to Zihao. "Is everything okay with Kania?" he asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

Zihao looked at him and chuckled. "Yeah, everything's fine. She's just being friendly," he said, squeezing Keita's hand.

Keita tried to believe him, but a small part of him still felt uneasy. He couldn't help feeling jealous and insecure again. He tried to ignore the feeling but it was difficult. He decided to talk to Zihao about it later that night.

When Zihao came over to Keita's house, Keita told him about what happened earlier. "I saw you and Kania in the hallway," Keita said, trying to keep his voice calm.

"Oh, that," Zihao said, looking a little uncomfortable. "I'm sorry if it made you feel jealous or anything, Keita. But you have nothing to worry about, I love you and only you."

Keita is still lowering his head, Zihao lifted his chin.

Zihao looked deeply into Keita's eyes and saw the love and affection he had for him. He couldn't resist any longer, and slowly leaned in, capturing Keita's lips with his own. Keita was momentarily surprised, but soon melted into the gentle kiss, wrapping his arms around Zihao's neck. The world around them faded away, and all that mattered was the feeling of their lips touching, their love connecting them in an embrace of warmth and tenderness.

"Oh my God," keita said, "you're stealing my first kiss"

Zihao smiled sheepishly. "I'm sorry, I couldn't resist," he said, caressing Keita's cheek. "But it's okay, right? Because we're boyfriends now."

Keita blushed and nodded, his heart swelled with happiness. He felt grateful for having someone who loved him so much.

Zihao wrapped his arms around Keita, "You know, I'm glad Kania confessed to me. It made me realize how much I love you and how I never want to lose you."

Keita's eyes widened in surprise, "Really?"

Zihao nodded, "Really. You are the one I want to be with, now and always."

Keita smiled, feeling his heart fill with warmth. He knew that he had found the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
