It seemed forever since I had found out that the Exit Button in my menu had been erased. Alexander's had been too and it felt like déjà vu. My mind was whirling with things to do in order to get out of this game. It would be reckless to commit suicide and hope for the best to wake up outside, but thinking about how most of the lives in SAO still died by doing that made me stop thinking about it. I passed by a store and saw something shimmering in the window. My eyes flicked to the object on instinct, but quickly flicked back forward. Alexander and I had come back from hunting on the 3rd Floor and were returning to the house we had rented together.
It was spacious but square footage wise, it was small. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a small kitchen, and a couch in the living room made everything worth the while. Alexander and I had counted the days since we had been stuck. It's been a week. I collapsed on the couch with a groan. Now at Level 40, and hunting on the 3rd Floor had become much harder then the Beginners hunting grounds. Alexander flopped down next to me, our hands centimeters apart. My bangs fell over my right eye and I brushed them out of the way. "You should get some hair ties in town. They have a sale in the clothing store this week."
Sometimes I wanted to smack him. Others I wanted hug the living day lights out of him. I knew that the sale was going on and that I was on my last hair tie. My hair was so thick they kept breaking. I kept my cool and calmly replied, "I know I was going to go shopping after I took a shower." Alexander nodded and I got off my butt headed to my bathroom. I grabbed a casual change of clothes before taking a quick shower. I combed and dried my long hair and styled it into a high ponytail with my last hair tie. I slipped on a pair of black spandex that reached my just above my knees, a short red plaid skirt, a white blouse with the sleeves rolled up casually to my elbows, and black combat boots.
"Ready to go?" I asked as I walked over to the front door. Suddenly the door opened and I jumped back in a fright. I frowned. "Let's go." I stomped out of the house and smacked Alexander on the back of the head. "Don't you ever do that again!" Clutching his head, Alexander laughed nervously. I made a small 'hmf' sound and grabbed his hand. I started running down the street, pulling a slightly shocked Alexander behind me. When we reached the small shop I quickly found the hair ties and a glimmer caught the corner of my eye. I looked over my shoulder and my eyes widened. It was a pair of silver rings sitting one over the other. I shook my head at a sudden thought. I walked over to a clothing rack and scanned through the various shirts.
I evidently bought a black crop top, a shorter pair of white spandex shorts, and a thigh strap to hold small hunting weapons. Alexander had bought us a big cooking pot while I was shopping for myself and we planned to make a chicken stew. My cooking skills were pretty high so I made dinner and we ate it happily. Soon it was time to go to bed. I sat on top of sheets, looking out of my window with a bored expression. I couldn't sleep. I rested my elbow on the window sill and placed my head in my hand. The two moons and twilight colored sky made me want to go out and do something. Alexander was a heavy sleeper so I didn't need to be to quiet about it. I shrugged and put on my new outfit from today along with a light blue hoodie and my thin sword.
Sneaking out was as easy as walking out the door in the morning. I transported to Floor 3 and put my hood up. I jumped into the air and landed on a wooden roof nearby. I felt like I was a ninja in Naruto. Smirking, I dashed at top speed across the roof and onto others. Just what I needed, a way to release my energy. I was more of a night owl than a morning songbird. Then something caught my eye. I skidded to a halt and my eyes widened. Suddenly the person disappeared. Then I felt a shadow behind me and hot breath blowing on my ear. "How have you been Miyuki?" I froze. What the hell was he doing on such a low floor?! Hearing an evil chuckle brought me out of daze. "What a cute outfit you have on!" Creep. On instinct I trusted up my elbow and knocked it into his stomach. He gasped in pain and lack of breath as I jumped onto a roof across from me and started running away.
