Bright daylight's shining through the unblocked window making me slam my eyes shut tightly and groan, pulling the blanket over my head and praying that the twins are still asleep so I can hopefully stay in bed for longer. I hear a gruff chuckle from the other side of the room that washes all my hopes away."I knew you'd react like that when I opened the curtains this morning. Time to get up princess, we need to get ready." Connor says from above me before ripping the blanket away from me. I groan and turn to glare at him but the dickhead just smirks at me and throws the blanket onto his bed that's on the other side of the room.
"I should've slept in my own room last night, you heathen." He laughs at me again before letting his face drop back into his usual deep menacing scowl. I stand and lift onto my tiptoes so that I can reach his head to ruffle his hair. "Put that smile back on your face for a little while, we're still alone at the moment, no need to try kill people with your steely gaze." I joke. His face softens slightly and he pulls me into a tight hug making me wince.
"Are you hurting still?" He asks in a soft voice. I shake my head against him and squeeze him despite the pain that ricochets through me, my ribs burning from where they were continuously forced into the desk in my room. I mentally shake away the horrifying thoughts of last night before pinching his arm to make him let go of me. He stares down at me with a hint of worry in his eyes, clearly knowing I'm lying, so I plaster on a smile and give him a little nod to reassure him that I'm okay. They never pester me with questions after I've had a visit from Fraser, not since the first few times it happened anyway. They just make sure I have a hot bath ready for when I come in to either of their rooms once Fraser leaves mine and they also give me fresh clothes. They will then set up a pile of duvets and blankets in one of their rooms, on the floor, so that I don't have to sleep alone and so that they can monitor me if I have a nightmare.
"Remember to clean your hand up and um, and any other cuts you might have, don't need anything getting infected." I nod at him and then look down at my injured hand, I'd forgot I'd even injured it due to what took place afterwards and the pain that I'm in from the events that took place.
"Hey dickheads, chop chop, we have 30 minutes till we need to leave if we want to be there and get everything we need." Callum says as he waltzes into the room. I roll my eyes and Connor grunts before we both separate and go to get ready. Today, we're driving to the college to get our schedules, locker numbers and get shown around by some rep so that we're prepared for our first day tomorrow.
------------------------------------
"Well it looks nice so far. Big enough to get lost in." Callum says from beside me as the rep turns down another corridor droning on about the history of the school to the group of 20 students, including us, following along after him. Connor lets out a grunt of acknowledgement and I just stay silent as I try to walk normally and avoid thinking about the pain from in between my thighs and the pain shooting across my bruised ribs.
"Brad, that guy could be your twin with all the grunting he keeps doing." A hushed feminine voice says from behind, Callum silently chuckles at the comment, catching on to the fact that the girl behind us must be referring to his grumpy twin. I look over my shoulder and see a petite girl, around the same height and age as me by the looks of things with white blond hair and a timid smile on her face. "Sorry, I didn't mean for you to hear that." She says shyly, looking at me nervously. I laugh slightly and turn to face her properly, walking backwards.
"It's fine, Grumpy doesn't talk much but he knows we find it rude so he grunts to let us know he's paying attention." Her smile widens a little, realising she hasn't offended anyone. I then glance to the two boys who walk either side of her and holy cow. They're gorgeous and not to mention tall, although that's not hard when it comes to me seeing as I'm only 5ft4. My gaze slides up and down, roaming over the one on the left who's about the same height as the twins, taking in his dark blonde messy hair that's cropped on the sides but longer on the top, he has bright green eyes that hold a mischievous glint in them. As my eyes travel over his body I can tell he has muscular arms hidden underneath the long sleeved top he's wearing and his legs look athletic and strong in the slim fit jeans that he's sporting. As my eyes bounce over to the guy on the left I realise that he must be Brad because his thick dark eyebrows are furrowed and his jaw's clenched and he quickly shoots a glare at the girl. He looks like the silent type who grunts instead of talks most of the time. He has dark brown eyes that add to his intimidating persona and a silver hoop that brings your attention to his full, smooth lips. He has roughly the same build as the other guy but he looks a little leaner and he's a couple inches smaller too but still at least 6ft.
"Stop staring Little C, pay attention. Our lockers are up here somewhere." Callum says, grabbing my arm and turning me back around to face the front of the group. I clear my throat and shake my head a little to shake off the flustered feeling, I know my cheeks are probably rosy red right now knowing that I must've been staring at the attractive guys behind me for far too long to be deemed normal. Callum smirks at me before throwing his arm over my shoulder and poking me in the side. He realises his mistake when I curse and hunch down slightly to try and relieve the pain. He loosens his hold on me and apologises, his eyes filling with worry almost instantly.
"You're an idiot." Connor huffs out, staring daggers at Callum before knocking his arm off of my shoulder and replacing it with his, gently pulling me into his side. Callum looks at me sheepishly but I reach out my hand and lightly squeeze his arm, it's not his fault I'm in pain and I don't blame him for not knowing where I'm hurt, they never do because I'd rather not tell them. They always feel guilty for the fact that they can't help me but I don't expect them too. I know it's too dangerous for either of them to try and stop it.
"You told me you weren't hurting." Connor whispers to me, pulling us to a stop as the rep stops to tell everyone which lockers they're assigned to and starts handing out keys. I just look up at him with a small smile and tell him I'm fine before focusing my attention back on the rep, waiting for my name to be called and ignoring his eyes that are burning into the side of my head. He lets out a sigh but thankfully doesn't say anything else.
"Calliope Conrad, locker 119." The rep calls out and I hurry over to him, as quick as I can whilst managing the pain, I take the key and then walk over in the direction he points me in. I let out a breath and lean against the locker once I find it and close my eyes for a second willing the throbbing pain to stop.
"Hey, guess we're locker neighbours." I open my eyes to see the blonde girl from earlier, smiling at me as she opens the locker next to mine. "My name's Kate, nice to meet you." She says, offering her hand to me. I look at her hand for a moment before looking up and across the corridor to where my brothers are standing, Callum's staring at me with a reassuring smile and Connor's staring at Kate's hand as if it's a deadly weapon. I roll my eyes at them and then slide my palm into Kate's awaiting hand.
"I'm Callie. Nice to meet you too." I offer, not 100% sure if that's the right way to respond. I don't really do friends, I always kept to myself in school and I had the twins to keep me company at lunch so I never needed any friends, it was also safer for us not to have any. She smiles at me, shakes my hand briefly and then closes her locker.
"Well, hopefully I'll see you around some time if you're not too busy with your... friends." She says, glancing over at the twins and then quickly back at me. I chuckle a little and also glance over at the two imposing giants who are still staring at me. I turn back towards her and see the two guys she was with earlier start approaching.
"They're my brothers, hence why they're staring over here and watching over me like some kind of obnoxious bodyguards. They're just really protective and we've always been close." My gaze slides up past her head after I explain that to her to the two guys who are now stood behind her. The one with the mischievous green eyes smiles at me before reaching his hand toward me just like Kate had a few moments before.
"I'm Nate, thought I'd introduce myself to you since my sister didn't, and this guy's Brad." He says, motioning to the one who's looking me up and down but with a bored expression on his face. I shake Nate's hand and go to introduce myself but as I open my mouth, I feel my brothers come up behind me and Connor places one hand over my mouth, silencing me, and his other hand on my shoulder, turning me to the side, enough of a sign to tell me we're leaving. I look back at Kate and the two guys and offer a small wave before Connor practically pushes me in front of him and down the hallway clearly done with this little introduction day.
