I leaped into the clearing in front of the massive arch covering the entrance to Exillium, with my friends Tam and Lin on either side of me.

Wayward's were gathered in front of the arch which was very surprising as these kids tended to stick to themselves but right now they were in small groups whispering to each other.

I was facing away from the arch so I turned to see what was going on and my jaw dropped at the sight.

Five kids around my age were hanging from the arch suspended by a thick rope.

"Umm... guys, you wanna see this" I whispered to the twins, they turned to look at what I pointing at.

Lin wore the same expression I'm sure was in my face and tam was smirking eyebrows raised " I wonder the hell they did"

I glared at him " What?" He shrugged "it's 5 at once something big must have gone down for that to happen"

Lin looked sympathetic "I do feel bad for them, being banished, having to leave their families forever  but at least they have each other"

I nodded in agreement,  but at that point I got distracted by one of the kids, a boy,  he was very close to setting himself free and by the look on his face I could tell that he hadn't thought ahead and was about to plummet. Something about him seemed familiar but I chose to ignore it.

I sighed and turned to the twins "I'm going to head to the healing center I'm confident that this kid is gonna get himself hurt. see ya soon!" And started walking away.

After a few steps I heard a thump, someone grunt, and a round of sinkers go around the clearing "new it" I thought proudly.

As I approached, boobury dude, as i liked to call him, exited the tent "ahh Breia just the person I was looking for" he said warmly, I had always liked him and he, me. as we both had a strong interest in helping and healing others, I mean my ability wasn't musical manipulation for nothing.

My ability was completely one of a kind, unique to me, I loved that about it but it was what humans called "overpowered" it was part of the reason I was banished. "An unfit, risky member of society" my file read.

"Uhh Breia are you listening" I snapped back into focus "sorry I wasn't, what were saying" I said sheepishly "I said can you set up the exilers I'll need and a few beds while I go get those you are injured"

"Yeah sure" I said already walking towards the cupboard to grab the few raggedy blankets we have. I could have sworn that i herd him mumble "there's always one"

Just as I was finishing up two figures, boobury dude and tam entered the room they were both carrying a kid each. I rushed over too tam and gently grabbed the girl from him she had long blonde hair and light colored skin. She seemed familiar but I couldn't place it.

I placed her on one of the cots and boobury dude placed the other boy on the other cot. He was mumbling incoherently "dam he must be on some serious pain medicine"

I returned to tam to gather some more information on what happened so I know how to treat the girl. "Tam! What the hell happened?" I whisper hissed. "She somehow managed to set the arch on fire, I think she might be a pyrokinetic, but don't worry it didn't hurt anyone else , she was the last one up there and Lin put it out before it spread"

I grinned, of course Lin would risk punishment to save the girl. "Did she get in trouble?" I whispered, I had to whisper because wayward's aren't supposed to talk to each other and boobury dude was giving us a suspicious look.

"No, the coaches were just glad the arch didn't burn down" I sighed in relief "thank god, you better go now before the coaches catch us" and I walked back over to the girl.

Her clothes were completely  singed and she had some pretty severe second degree burn's I had to think for a minute before thinking of the right tune. It was a jolly little nursery rhyme just about everyone knew.

I only had to hum it 3 times before her skin returned to normal. A new record!! But I still needed to give her a pain elixir because with no training I still hadn't figured out how to help with it he pain.

I got her dressed into some new clothes and pulled the thin blanket over her hoping it would provide some kind of comfort.

I went to check on the boy, boobury dude had already bandaged his ankle up. From what I could hear before he was conscious but under some strong pain meds. They seemed to have worn off a bit cause he was only a bit loopy now. I still haven't seen what exactly the boy looked like but just as I was about to look they girl woke up.

I rushed over to a dark corner I wanted to give the two some space. Those dark brown eyes with gold flecks, they were so familiar. It took a second her face to click. It was Sophie foster  she was in my class and she had been my only friend the whole time I was in the forbidden city's before the council dragged me back to the lost city's and got me banished.

she was super smart and knew what it felt like to not belong. What the hell was she doing here. Shit this was bad I couldn't let her know that it was me, it would completely ruin what little memories we had.

I let out a little gasp as it set in. the two had been in deep conversation but they turned at the noise. My heart stopped at the sight of the boy. Blonde hair gorgeous blue eyes, I would recognize that face anywhere. It was eerily similar to our fathers. It was my little brother.
