Chapter 10

My shift is over I can finally go home. I haven't gotten a text from Y/n today. She usually gets the twins today. I drive back to my apartment. I get to my door everything seems quiet on the inside. I open my door and see Y/n sitting at the kitchen peninsula. Wearing black silk pajamas.

"H-hey" I stutter. Y/n looks up from her phone. "Hey hero, the twins are asleep in my room. I was going to text you but they put me to work right away then I didn't want to bother you... So I never texted you" Y/n whispers. "Oh, so you do have them. Parents staying out late tonight?". She nods. "How was work, hero?" A grin plays on her lips. "It was okay, got to save some people from a burning building" I answer. She puts a hand over her mouth. "They're all in perfect health. Fortunately, I and a few others got there in time" I sit next to her. "Well that's good" She sighs with relief.

"I bet it's cool being able to be a hero..." Y/n's voice is soft. Her warm soft lips kiss the side of my cheek. "Thank you for being a hero" She starts to walk away. I grab her wrist and pull her into a hug. She hugs back. We release and she tells me goodnight. I smile at her.

Once she's out of sight, I frown. I feel bad. Does she really not think she can become a hero with this quirk? Maybe, Camie can help, just maybe.

[The Next Morning]

I wake up on the couch. I check the time. 9:02 a.m. Thank goodness I don't have work today. "You awake hero?" A feminine voice asks. I sit up and look toward the kitchen. I look around. Where are the kids? "The kids are at school if you were wondering. I took them earlier" Y/n informs. "Wow, I slept through that?" I scratch my head. I can hear her footsteps come toward me until she stops right in front of me. "Here" she hands me a cup. "What's this" I grab the cup from her. "It's a Frappuccino with caramel drizzle! What I made for you on the first day I met you" She smiles. I widen my eyes a bit and look up at her, "You remember that?". She nods, "Yep! That's because you were the first person to ask me what I like". I look back down at the drink in my hand and take a sip. It tastes just like how it did when I first tried it. "Wow, this is good!" I state.

"Splendid! I went shopping after I dropped off the kids... My poor wallet" She mumbles the last bit. "How much were the ingredients?" I ask. "Hmm, not much I'll say around thirty to fifty dollars. But I had to buy a mini blender... So that was expensive-". I look up at her words, "You bought a mini blender?". "Yep! It's worth it though. I don't really drink coffee I'm more of a tea person. But if I do-" Y/n starts to chuckle a little bit. I look at her with an eyebrow raised. "You have a little something right there" She points to the side of her mouth. I wipe my mouth and look at her. "You got it" Y/n sticks her thumb up.

We are watching The Blacklist until she stands up. "I need to go pick up the kiddos" Y/n walks to the door and puts her shoes on. "Oh, can I come with?" I ask nervously. "Of course!" She smiles. "Let me get ready, then we can head out," I say. Y/n nods. I get up, go to my room and get ready.

I come out and slide my shoes on. "Let's go, we can take my car". "Okay!" Y/n smiles. We walk out my apartment and make our way toward my car. She tells me the directions and I follow them.

Once we get to the school we get out the car. Y/n talks to the lady. The lady asks us to wait so she can get the kids.

"Watch out!" I'm pushed to the side. Y/n lands on top of me as we hit the ground. "Villains, I need to get the kids..!" She gets up. I stand up quickly looking around. "Y/n, where do you see-" I turn to Y/n grabbing a knife out of the school door. "Be safe, Midoriya," She pushes the door open and walks into the school. I stay outside, ready for anything. I send my location to Shoto and Uraraka.

Second Person POV

You wait in the school looking around to see if you can see anyone. A staff heads your way. "Are all the kids where they need to be??" You question. They nod. "Alright, I have my hero license. Bring me to them so I can use my quirk" You show him your license. They seem hesitant at first but then tell you to follow them.

Once you reach the area you tell the staff to get in there just in case. "Okay, Y/n, it's time to use your quirk to hide them," You say to yourself. You activate your quirk and it hides the entrance to the kids and staff.

Suddenly, bricks go flying. You move out of the way just in time. You peek around the corner and see that Uraraka was flung into the wall causing those bricks to fly. You use your quirk to hide her and yourself. You dash over to Uraraka tossing her arm over your shoulder. Before she speaks you put a finger to your lips, motioning her to stay quiet.

Once you're away from the entrance to where the kids are you take a breather and look around. "Are you okay?" You whisper to the female. She nods, "What are you doing here?!", she whisper yells. "Deku and I came to pick up the kids" You answer still looking around. "You need to get out of here!" Uravity cries. "I can't. I'm using my quirk to hide the entrance. It's where the kids are" You look her in the eyes. A knife flies past both of you, slicing your cheek. "Y/n!" Uravity grips your arm, pulling you behind her. "I'm fine" You take her hand. "Get out of here! I'll take care of Toga!" Uraraka urges. "Be care- Shit! Change of plans!" You stop as you see Spinner behind you.

"Uravity, how many knives can you handle? Enough to make Spinner float?" You watch Spinner. "Yeah," She responds. "Great, let's switch opponents," You say as the two villains charge at the both of you.

You and Toga clash blades. You send your foot to her stomach. "Duck!" Uraraka yells. You drop as Spinner flies into Toga. You grab one of the swords Spinner drops. "Now follow me!" Uraraka drags you. The female hero pulls you outside where you see Shoto and Deku fighting a humongous nomu. You get pushed out of the way. Thanks to Uravity you're not stuck under a nomu, but she is. "Uravity!" You shout. Your voice catches Midoriya's attention. "Y/n get out of here!" He yells.

You start to run toward Uravity and the nomu with the sword in your hand. You jump off the ground and slice the head off of the nomu with the sword. You lean to the side so the nomu won't fall onto Uravity. You jump off the ground and stand next to Uraraka. "Uravity! Get her out of here!" Deku instructs. Uraraka nods, "Right! Let's go!". You both run to your right.

"Not so fast..." A blue flame spreads around us. Something grabs the brunette beside you and drags her out the circle. "Uravity?!" You call out. You grip into the sword in your hand. "Deku?!" You shout. No answer from the two heroes. "They're busy at the moment..." Dabi walks into the circle of fire. "What do you want?" You cough due to the smoke. "Well, you of course... Doc needs you for an experiment". You freeze. You hear yelling in the distance. "Damn! Kurogiri, get us out of here!" Dabi shouts. Dynamite comes through the fire but he's too late. He misses your hand. You fall into the portal. Dynamite rolls onto the ground empty-handed. "DAMMIT!" The angry hero roars as the fire decreases into nothing.

The heroes run to Dynamite. "Where is she?!" Midoriya asks. "I fucking missed her hand!" Katsuki punches the ground. Izuku feel the rage run through his body. He failed to protect you. One of his top priorities and he failed. No words come out of the number one hero's mouth. He just clenches his fist. His body is filled with rage and determination to find you.

That was the last time you and Midoriya saw each other. The last time you saw any of them.
