3rd Person POV

Astra and Spooner are pulled into Gideon's mind and memories as Astra chants a spell. The two girls are in a darker version of the waverider, looking outside the windows to see scrambles of code

"Gideon. Hello?" Astra asks, the waverider empty and echoing

"Ah, that ain't the Temporal Zone." Spooner says, gesturing outside

"Well, you certainly know your stuff, don't you?" A british voice asks, walking into the room to reveal Jax. "Those are all of Gideon's memories out there, and it seems like they got corrupted when her brain got overwhelmed. So are you guys here to help me, uh, get the old girl up and running again?"

"Who the hell are you?" Astra asks

"Jefferson Jackson." Jax answers, his accent lacing his words. "But just call me Jax."

"Wait a second....you're Jax?"Astra asks, emphasizing the name

"The one and only." Jax answers

"I...I know you..." Astra whispers

"I can assure you, we've never met." Jax tells her

"No, no, no." Astra tells him. "No, I know we've never met but...I know your eyes...you're Maddie's dad." She realizes

"That I am." Jax says. "And if you know my daughter, you know the love of my life as well."

"Brooklyn." Spooner answers

"Right again." Jax answers. "Father of Maddie, soulmate of Brooke, the better-looking half of Firestorm, and the ship's mechanic extraordinaire at your service, ladies. So I take it you two are Legends then."

"You know, they never told us you were British." Spooner says

"Yeah, I'm not, this is just how Gideon decided to remember me for some reason." Jax says. "But I don't mind... I mean, everything sounds better in a British accent, don't it?"

"Debatable." Astra mumbles

"So you're a memory?" Spooner asks as Jax leads the two to the control room

"The last remaining." Jax says. "I spent so much time working on Gideon that I must've been protected here in her subconscious." The door opens to reveal Gideon in a chair like the medical bay hooked up to wires. "Now, I mean, I can't say the same for the rest of you chumps, but..."

"Look what you did to her." Spooner tells Astra

"Me?" Astra asks. "You are the one who forced the decision on her. Clearly, she couldn't handle it. We're in a hurry, can you just get her up and running and then..."

"Uh, not so simple." Jax answers, pulling up a scan of Gideon's brain. "Um, you see this? This is her prefrontal cortex, and it houses all of her short-term memories, and as you can see, hers has

been completely wiped. And this is the subconscious. That's where we are. It's kind of like a stronghold. It's buried so deep it was able to be protected when she melted down."

"What's... what's going on here?" Spooner asks, pointing to an area of the brain with a lot of activity

"That is Gideon's long-term memories." Jax answers, zooming in on the area. "Now, while everything else was being erased, she was able to hold on to a few moments. Problem is, she can't access them on her own."

"All right, well, what happens if you just wake her up?" Spooner asks

"Without her memories. Heh. Well, it would be like a factory reset." Jax says. "She'd be back to who she was before she knew any of us."
