As they returned to the kingdom, it was dark. Nova got out of the carriage as it came to a stop in front of the magnificent castle. A few flames illuminated the enormous gate she came to, and two knights stood watch at the entrance. Then they motioned for her to follow them inside as they entered. Nova passed by many royal artifacts displayed in the hallways, portraits of the king bathing himself in gold and riches, crystal chandeliers lined up at the ceilings and many more extravagant things she had never come across before. When they reached the throne room, the imposing doors slowly opened. A vision flashed before her eyes as she noticed the king resting on his throne and the jewel-encrusted crown that was perched on his head.
The servant announced, "Sire, we have brought the Seeress back."
Nova was given room to be seen by the king by the gathering of servants. She took a small step forward and looked at the king. Her magenta eyes made the king feel intimidated because he had never seen a person with them before.
"My king," Nova said, bowing. Her compelling voice astounded the king. "How may I refer to you, Seeress?" He asked.
"Nova," she retorted, straightening her figure.
"All right Nova, carry out your responsibilities as a fortune teller. Envision my future right now."
Nova seemed dismayed because she had not anticipated having an encounter with the king like this. She has no right to defy his directives, despite the fact that he was impolite. When Nova removed the tent from her robe, it unfolded magically and filled up the side wall of the throne room.
"What's this?" The king made a query.
"I already saw your future at first glance; now you should see it for yourself here," Nova said.
"Why should I enter the tent?" mocked the king. "Why don't you simply tell me now?"
Even though Nova was struggling to control her sputtering irritability, she maintained her composure and said, "It is my duty to show my clients their future as words are not always believable."
The king rolled his eyes and stepped off his throne, "fine, let's get this over with."
The king followed after Nova as he vanished behind the tent's curtains, finding himself in an unfamiliar setting. Nova was already seated behind the table, which had tarot cards arranged and an illuminating crystal globe in the middle. The crystal globe was already brimming with smoke when the king sat down in front of her. Nova made a globe-shaped gesture with her hands and mumbled a tune. The king's eyes widened as an immediate, vivid representation of himself manifested inside the globe. In an instant, two shadows in his bedroom were seen stabbing the figure of him inside the globe with a knife. The king gasped in complete disbelief and horror as he leaped from his seat.
"What sort of sorcery is this?" The king groaned as he retreated backwards from his seat and his brow began to perspire. "Why am I being seen dead inside this crystal globe?"
"My king," Nova said, staring down at his terrified visage, "I'm afraid that you will meet your fate by midnight."
